your patients are smart - they KNOW what their problem is, whether it’s that they spent too much time in the sun when they were younger, or it’s just genetics, or they’ve never moisturized. they know.

what they need from YOU, is the answer to what the solution is, and why they should get the solution from your med spa specifically.

they look at themselves everyday, so of course they know what they’d like to fix.

that’s why traditional “problem aware” content doesn’t really work in the med spa and medical aesthetics space- because aren’t we all TOO aware of our issues in the appearance department?

so rather than taking that approach, which feels kind of obvious & condescending, a more effective approach is to build your credibility, and show them why they should book with YOU + your med spa.

one thing i love working with my clients on (esp in regards to their branding) is this concept: that leaning into what makes your brand unique is actually what’s going to help you develop a business with a cult following- those repeat bookers that wouldnt go anywhere else because YOUR business is where they feel seen. You cant get that by creating a business that’s similar to your competitors.

the revision process! revisions are a collaborative time where we have the time to make any edits needed to the brand after the presentation.

this is totally normal, and is a part of the creative process.

narrowing down what feels right for the brand is so normal, and natural- we’re all humans 🫶

since using the one concept method, I’ve used the additional time I used to spend creating multiple brand concepts, and I’ve put it into fleshing out the one, strongest concept more fully.

this way, my clients are able to see how the brand would work “in the real world” so to speak, with mock-ups, example social media posts, and more!

at the end of the day, sometimes we will need to make edits- and when this does happen, I guide my clients through the feedback process, to help them give me the most helpful feedback, to get down to what feels right for the brand 🤍

most of the time when clients reach out to work with me, they’ve never worked with a brand designer before- which is totally normal!

so, if you’ve been thinking about working with me, you might be wondering what the process is like and how many logo options I’ll present.

so, let’s talk about it! I use the one concept method, which means during the branding process, I’ll present one fully formed brand identity concept 🍋

if you’ve never worked with a designer before, you may be worried that that’s not enough- so let’s talk about why I do it that way!

when I first got started designing, I’d present two, maybe three, sometimes even four brand concepts to a client- which led to a couple big problems.

1. decision fatigue! clients would be overwhelmed by the amount of options, and worrying about the choice to be made- they’d want tons of second opinions from friends, hear conflicting things, and start trying to combine various details from one concept to another. All in all, a hectic, stressful experience!

2. I would present all three options, KNOWING in the back of my head which one was the strongest and best choice.

By using the one concept method, I stepped into the role of designer- the expert my clients hired me to be! It’s my job to use my expertise to design the best option, and lead my clients through the creative process.

And now, with the one concept method, I do. Plus, with more time to perfect one option, I’m finding clients actually have less revisions than ever- a better experience all around, where clients have more trust in me as the designer, and no need to see a bunch of options 🤍

hello to one of my favorite projects ever 🌞🍊🍐🍉

lately I’ve been really leaning into the parts of design that I love- playing with color, and hand drawn illustrations

I wanted to create a brand that would stand out, feel fun, playful, but still elevated, with a color palette of sun drenched pastels + pops of color

will be posting more little details of the brand, but couldn’t wait to share 🍍
