We’re seeing the first few signs of spring in Wilmington! Aside from the blanket of yellow pollen covering everything, we’re so excited to greet warmer weather 🌱☀️🌸

Mike and I have been soaking up as much time as possible in the backyard and have even started planning a few new landscaping projects! We’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks.

It’s the perfect chilly weekend for cozying up by the fire…. Buttttt unfortunately when we had our chimney swept this past week we got some not so great news 🙄

Long story short, last year we had invested a pretty sizable chunk of change in repairing our chimney and adding a lining to make sure it’s safe to use. That company has since gone out of business so we found a new company to come clean and inspect it this year. When they took a look at last year’s work they discovered a lot of issues where the previous company cut corners including the chimney lining being too small to be deemed safe to use. Needless to say it makes sense why the old company is out of business in town 🙃

So… we are super bummed, and with our wedding this year, another chimney replacement is not in the cards for us this winter. So our fireplace is going to act as fashion not function this year 🤷🏻‍♀️🪵

I can’t believe it’s been almost two years since we re-did our kitchen backsplash and I never shared a video on how we did it! During this project I taught myself a whole new host of skills including using a wet saw, grouting, and demoing 😅 if your toying with the idea of adding a new backsplash but are worried about the process let me be the one to reassure you that if I can do it… you can do it too!
