In the early 90’s, French football club FC Martigues were sponsored by British video game company Ocean, leading to one of the most iconic football kits of all time. Ocean launched their Jurassic Park game for SNES in 1993—the same year the movie released in theaters—and selected the newly promoted Ligue 1 club to promote the game on their home and away kits during the 1993-94 season.

According to a recent 1.5gb data leak, Eminem will be coming to Fortnite as part of the “Big Bang” world event coming Saturday, December 2 at 11am ET. Marshall Mathers is no stranger to gaming, as evidenced by lyrics and early 1999 PS1 photos. The skin will have a few different cosmetic options with the emote/ ability to “mask up” and change looks. A quick history of video game sponsorships on football kits:
1. Arsenal FC x SEGA/Dreamcast (1999-2002) - The Home and Away kits, as well as practice/sideline gear, featured alternate branding as shown here by Gunner legends Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieria.
2. Sevilla FC x Nintendo (1992) - A rare shirt from a single game sponsorship during Maradona’s one-year stint with the Spanish side. RIP Legend.
3. Cerezo Osaka x Capcom (1997-98) - The Japanese dev/publisher renewed their deal with the local side last year, hopefully paving the way for new game-inspired designs.
4. JEF United Chiba x SEGA/Sonic (1994-95) - Although the wide array of SEGA-sponsored kits deserve its own post, the Japanese club's shirt featuring everyone’s favorite hedgehog had to make the list.
5. ACF Fiorentina x Nintendo (1997-99) - An absolute heater of a jersey in the traditional purple worn here by legend Gabriel Batistuta.
6. AJ Auxerre x PlayStation 2 (2001-05) - Not Sony’s first sponsorship with a European club but the first console-specific branding as worn by Djibril Cissé.
7. Manchester City x EIDOS (2000-02) - The deal came just one year after the clubs promotion out of the second division to the Premier League. Rival fans were quick to call out that EIDOS actually stood for “Eleven Idiots Dreaming of Success.”
8. Bayern Munich x Commodore (1984-89) - The American home computer manufacturer behind the C64 and Amiga series played a major role in the acceleration of personal computer adoption. Their partnership with the Bundesliga titan marks the oldest artifact in this list.
9. Olympique Lyon x Atari (2000-01) - At the turn of the century, Atari (fka Infogrames Entertainment) got into the mix by sponsoring their hometown club from Lyon. Shown here is Brazilian free kick specialist Juninho who played for the French club from 2001-09.
10. Tokyo Verdy x Konami (02-04) - Despite the humble design, this one deserves a mention simply as a salute to Konami for releasing Pro Evolution Soccer/Winning Eleven (now eFootball) and thereby starting one of the greatest rivalries in video game history.

For two football seasons from ’97-’99, the Italian Series A side ACF Fiorentina was sponsored by Nintendo. Not only did this partnership birth some of the most iconic and memorable kit designs, it also resulted in a limited edition Game Boy Pocket. The console was released in 1998 and exclusively sold in Italy via the now defunct Italian toy company GiG. Although for some reason the number badges go up to 3,000, the run was limited to only 300 units.
The Game Boy’s were kept in the OG silver color way, with an enamel issue number badge, as well as an ACF decal, similar to the Manchester United Game Noy we posted a while back. They were also shipped in custom packaging and bundled with a copy of the games Super Mario Land and Soccer (aka Striker or Ultimate Soccer in other parts of the world).
Even if you’re not a football fan, it’s easy to appreciate these limited edition consoles that Nintendo used to run in the 90s. Particularly for their regional exclusivity and often bizarre stories.

Ah s**t, here we go again.
Sam Houser, co-founder and President of , earlier announced that the first trailer of the new GTA game will be released this December. The date coincides with the 25th anniversary of the American publisher that’s responsible for iconic games like Red Dead Redemption, Midnight Club, Max Payne, and of course the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Nike “Wii Pack” (2009)
The pack included four silhouettes— an Air Max 95, Air Force II High, Blazer, and Sky Force High—that feature subtle (and not-so-subtle) nods to the beloved Nintendo console including On/Off logos on the tongue with blue and red highlights, circuit board pattern laser etching, translucent soles, as well as ostrich leather accents that resemble the Wii controller’s strap.
A year after the launch of the “Wii-inspired” colorways, images of an unreleased Air Max 1 sample surfaced, which would have easily become the highlight of the pack. The AM1 most notably featured a transparent toe box reminiscent of CLOT’s “Kiss of Death” AM1 from 2006, alongside an all white upper, croc pattern on the lateral/medial, woodgrain pattern on the heel, as well as the signature circuit board design on the mudguard.
