AYU, PDP CHIEFTAINS RECEIVE DEFECTORS AT ATIKU’S HOME-COMING GRAND RECEPTION

It was a memorable event today, at the main bowl of the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, Adamawa State, as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) flag bearer in the 2023 presidential elections, H.E Atiku Abubakar (GCON), made his first home-coming, since his historic victory at the PDP presidential primary elections that took place in Abuja, in the month of June.

The high point of the occasion was the reception of over five thousand All Progressives Congress -APC defectors, led by Hon. Shuabu Babas, who spoke on behalf of the defectors, as they all pledged loyalty to the PDP and equally expressed their support for the candidature of the Wazirin Adamawa. The defectors stated that their decision to decamp to the PDP was influenced by the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the PDP candidate, whom they described as the unifier standard bearer. They all pledged to work for his victory in the forth coming elections.

In his remarks at the occasion, the former vice-president noted the importance of the event which was not for campaign but a joyous home coming for his brothers and sisters who decided on their own to join the PDP family. He stated that the PDP is a very big umbrella that is always ready to accommodate everyone at all times. He equally urged the defectors to give maximum support to the governor of the state, Ahmadu Fintiri, who has demostrated the zeal to make life better for the people of the state and reassured them that the Governor will not fail in providing dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

In his address, the PDP national chairman Senator Iyorchia Ayu, congratulated the defectors for taking a wise decision to join the PDP and reassured them that the PDP is fully back and currently working to consolidate on the progress it has made since the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the presidential standard bearer of the party in the 2023 general elections. VOTE OF CONFIDENCE PASSED ON ATIKU AS HE HOSTS MEMBERS OF PDP SOUTH-SOUTH WARD-TO-WARD CAMPAIGN GROUP

The members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-South ward-to-ward campaign group led by Ada Fredrick, today paid a solidarity visit to His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (GCON) in Abuja.

Speaking at the occasion, a member of the delegation, Hon. Onoge Tamuno said the group has implicit confidence in the ability of the former vice-president of the country to run, rescue and redirect the country on the path of peace, unity and progress noting that Atiku was the leader of the economic team in the past that reposition the economy for growth and development.

In the same vein, another member of the delegation recognized the Wazirin Adamawa as a team player who has made enormous commitment towards the growth of democracy in Nigeria.

Members of the team unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the PDP flag bearer pledging their loyalty and support for his candidature in the upcoming presidential election in 2023, saying that they have made enough mobilization and sensitization to deliver at the grassroots level.

On his part, the PDP presidential candidate welcomed members of the delegation and thanked them for coming and charged them to work to ensure the party’s victory in 2023 polls to ensure a better tomorrow for the country.
