Biography of Justice Yussif Tanko

He was born in dodowa zongo, his dad was the imam of dodowa until his demise in December last year at the age of over 110yrs.

In Ghana, it’s believed that the legal profession is reserved for a certain class of people especially those from prominent families that has history in the industry.

This man, a Zongo boy born to a parent without secular education in dodowa had been able to breakthrough all the impediments on the way of a poor boy from not a so rich family to make it to the highest court of the land as the first Muslim and a first Zongo boy, this is worth celebrating.

Long before now, he was one of the best lawyers in his days. when he got to the bench, his records there is so impressive. His rise on the bench is something many people marvel about. He rose to be the 4th in command in the appeals court within a limited space of time since he was appointed to the appeals court. He’s a well qualified person for this position that cannot be overlooked anymore.

This is to tell we the Zongo youth that there’s no limit to whatever we set our eyes on, it’s really possible for us all. Let’s make the Story of Justice Tanko inspire us to make a statement for Islam and Zongo in the highest offices of the land.
