Our next, and the fourth episode of Driwa will focus on the developments of our scientific understanding of space and time. From the Gallilean and Newtonian notions of fixed and absolute space and time, to Einsteins conception of a spacetime continuum that is dynamic and dependent on its occupying objects, we have come a long way in our understanding of these two phenomena that permeate us all. We will touch upon how this idea of spacetime led to Einstein’s revolutionary theory of gravity. We will discuss what leads to the formation of these highly dense objects called blackholes, and how colliding blackholes can create ripples in our very fabric of spacetime and how we famously observe them as gravitational waves. We will also tinker with the idea of time travel and what that means for our notions of causality. We will cover these and other fascinating questions in our next episode of Driwa, to be released in the near future.

Introducing Driwa Shorts! Often when trying to cover as broad a topic as “truth” in our last episode, we feel that it is quite difficult to delve too deeply into some of the interesting and important aspects of the topic. Some of these topics might be of special interests to our listeners or to ourselves. To indulge a little further in our process of raising questions and doubts, we present Driwa Shorts. These are series of short, 10-15 minutes long, videos that will focus a little more on certain topics either mentioned or touched upon in our episodes or in the discussions. Hello everyone, our second episode of Driwa is out. We kindly assume that some of you have been wondering about and waiting for this after listening to the introductory episode. In this episode, we largely discuss the notions or aspects of truth as understood, debated, and questioned in various disciplines such as science, history, and Buddhism. We hope our listeners will find our conversation stimulating, encouraging, critical, and, at the same time, pointing towards raising more questions. Here are some questions we thought would be helpful to get us started with critical discussions:

About Us
As avid readers of history, philosophy, science and political theory, among other things, we feel that we learn the best when we talk to others, discuss and engage our ideas more intensively. In our many get-togethers, we found our conversations drift from one book to another, one philosophical idea to another, and soon realized that since we enjoy talking about these things so much, we might as well record them and see what others feel about them.
Driwa “དྲི་བ་” means question in Tibetan. In our search for a name for the podcast, we decided that this was the most appropriate name we could come up with. Central to our intentions is the emphasis we want to place on questioning, without regards to whether answers to these questions exist or not. We believe that it is the incessant questioning of ideas that leads not only to a better understanding of things but also opens up avenues for new ways of thinking. Also integral to our intentions for the podcast is to arouse a sense of doubt in the listeners. We believe that the sense of certainty of knowledge is its biggest hindrance. Doubt forces one to ask questions, and questions lead to engagement with knowledge. So with the dual edifices of questions and doubts we want to build a little community where we can engage in free, open engagement with topics and ideas of all kind.
We hope the listeners will take something from the podcast, and use it as a platform for engaging their inquisitive minds as well as the others just like them. We do not purport to be experts of any kind. Nothing we say is of particular authority on the subjects we speak on. We are simply two people interested in learning more about things and engaging others as we do so. Therefore, input from the listeners is pivotal in shaping the direction that this podcast takes. Please leave comments on the content, on the structure and any other aspect of this podcast that might help us improve it for everyone. Hope you enjoy listening and learning with us!
