A man was sentenced to jail on Thursday (Oct 27) for trying to pass magazines with 32 needles hidden in them to his brother in prison.

Abdul Khaliq Mohammed Shan, 60, was given five months' jail and an additional enhanced sentence of 88 days' jail, as he committed the offence while on remission for past offences.

The cost of living crisis is leaving some communities struggling to send money back to families overseas, the BBC has found.

Some of Bristol's Somali community have drastically reduced amounts they send to families in Somalia and Somaliland.

The US dollar is used in those countries and after the pound hit record lows against the dollar, it's become more expensive to send money.

The Horn of Africa is currently facing one of its worst droughts on record.

"Sending money to loved ones is a lifeline for some," said a spokesperson for Dahabshiil, a money transfer agency.

Abdirashid Dule, its CEO, said: "We, Dahabshiil, as a licensed remittance company, have seen both senders and receivers are being affected by the cost of living crisis.

Members of Bristol's Somali community say they have had to cut the amount of money they send home.

An investigation is underway in Spartanburg County after multiple people were found dead in a house on Sunday night.

The Spartanburg County Coroner, the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office and Inman Police Department are investigating after a call came in at around 7:46 p.m.

The coroner said four people were found dead in the home, and one person was injured and later passed away in surgery at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

According to the coroner, all five victims were adults and their injuries appear to be from gunshots.

Family plays loud music with explicit lyrics to protest school playground noise

A playground isn’t usually the site of controversy, but that’s not the case in Orland Park.

The constant noise was annoying neighbors, so one family took matters into its own hands.

Behind Prairie Elementary School sits this updated playground. It was built with musical instruments, including loud drums.

When the new digs popped up, kids loved it. But the same could not be said for the family whose backyard is within feet of the playground.
