Back in the summer I worked with the lovely Jolene Sheehan from community writing group The Stories of Our Lives, based in Chorlton, Manchester. It was a delight to support several group members as they recorded their Audio Autobiographies.

Linda recorded her stories of life growing up in Yorkshire and attending college in Manchester, in the 1960s, to pass on to her new born grandson.

Helen chose to tell the story of discovering she is deaf blind, and the ways that has impacted her life, without holding her back.

Reflecting on your life story so far is hugely cathartic at any age but your Saturn return - that point at around age 29 when so many of us make big changes - is an ideal marker point.

Personally, between ages 28 and 30 I bought a home, quit my job and ran away from Liverpool to live in Hollywood for 6 months. 😅

Now, age 41, my early 20s feel like a lifetime ago - I'm such a different person and lots of the memories are hazy (not just because I partied way more back then). I wish I'd recorded my voice, talking about my feelings and experiences. That's one of the reasons why I now support people to do just that.

And imagine how cool it would be if you had a recording of your 30yo grandma talking about her life? You have the opportunity to create that for your ancestors!
