Dallas and William came to visit this weekend, so we cooked for us ! (Terry Ann Cox-Tumlin won the Amish Farm Soap Valentines Gift Basket. )didn’t want to forget to let y’all know. Any way Dallas , William and I deserve a good platter of pies. By thetime they left on Sunday afternoon all the pies were gone except 1/2 pie that was thrown out. It rained all day long as we stayed inside inside enjoying each other’s company. We found plenty to do.
I always look forward to loving on my children and grandchildren. Anna and Isabella couldn’t come ( work and activities were calling their name).

We had a function at Bethany Baptist. I ask Gloria to come with me. We had the best time cooking together because she always wants to learn new recipes to cook for her family. She has a really large family and these delicious treats will go a long way. . So I taught her how to make these Hush Puppies ( that I call critters, because with all the onions hanging out they look like an animal).
I had gotten out a big platter for the critters but we made so many that I had to change to a bigger platter. 😂. Anyway we had a great time at the function. Bethany Baptist Andalusia Alabama has some fabulous cooks and I’m mighty proud to be able to partake of a meal with all the fine folks that worship and bond together there.

Dumpling Dough - these dumpling go in chicken broth or any cobbler. Learn how to make the dumpling and you can make a world of good dishes. Blackberry cobbler is my favorite cobbler. I always like to put ice cream on top of mine of mine. Cobblers are supposed to have lots of good juice in them. That’s the best part.
Banks , William and I always go blacking picking. The problem is that we sometimes eat so many as we are picking that we don’t have many left for the cobbler.

Homemade Chili. Make a big pot of chili ! It’s so easy, healthy and delicious ! High protein , make ahead, and freezes well makes this dish perfect for large gatherings or just a family of two. Sometimes I fix me a bowl then put grated sharp cheese and a dollop of sour cream on top. Please make you some chili. This will not disappoint !! Sometimes I cook the dried kidney beans ahead of time, then make the chili with that. You folks in the North need to make this today. I hear another winter storm is heading your way.

Also I want you all to know that I wanted to spend more time with each of you at the book signing but could not because of the long line. Thank you all for coming ! smallcakesfoley - they also have a face book page. I really wanted to visit their small cake store but I was way to tired. I got home way after dark. Stacy’s Soda fountain was beautiful. He fixed me a delicious chicken sandwich on rye read. I ate 1/2 of it then took the rest home for tomorrow.

Good morning y’all. I have 4 granddaughters. All of them have long hair, so this under braid really works well. If you are older with kinda long hair, this is a great way to get your hair out of the way when cooking or doing yard work.

This is the only soap I use. It has cleared up my dry spots and made my skin look so much better. I wash my hair in it too. Y’all need to click on the link and read some of the testimonies that people have written about the soap. I get the bag that has 5 bars in it. Let me know what you think.

Hush Puppies,Cabbage and Tea

Spring is here. Our mouth scarves a cool refreshing drink. My drink of choice is tea !!
I guess yard work and getting my hands in the soil is in my blood. Some of my fondest memories is being outside with my parents doing things in the yard. Yes, Mama served tea with every yard work experience. She’d bring the whole pitcher outside with a bunch of tin glasses. They were so cold in my hand. I can remember Daddy raring back and drink his tea with one long drink then pouring another glass. Life was good. I remember one time we were invited by some friends to come to their home for supper. They served water with the meal. We were in SHOCK !! I still remember it to this day.
Getting back to my story- I cut back my boxwoods because they were getting to big. If you cut them in 8 inch pieces and put them down in some soil ( I put them in big flower pots) and keep them watered they will root. I root lots of plants roses too.

Bay is my oldest grandchild and her family came over here after church for Dinner. Since She was home from Ole Miss -her college of choice. I told her she could pick the menu for Sunday .

Good morning sweet friends. The yard is in full bloom. Spring has come !! A fresh start. The winter is pasted. Now let’s get up, wake up and work in the yard. Plant something , even if it’s just in an old bucket. Remember to let the children plant something too. It teaches them about life, beauty,caring,needs and the gift of life itself. The Lord has been might good to us all. He has given eternal life to all who come to Him in faith as their Lord and savior. Just like the flower that blooms for a while then fades away - so is our life here on earth. We are just passing through. Heaven is my eternal home. How about you?

Creamed Potatoes

The most important thing about creamed potatoes is keeping the bowl nice and hot. Use hot milk and hot butter. Never serve them cold and hard.
Never put the butter in until you have creamed the well. Last ingredient is milk. You can’t measure this just pour until they are nice a fluffy.

Great Northern Dried Beans and Hot Water Cornbread with white Lily

My windows must have a glare because birds fly into them all the time.
I’ve also had birds fight with the side view mirror on my truck when they saw their on reflection in it. One time I had a wood pe**er try to build his home in the outside wall of my house.

This is one of the many special aprons that have been given to me. Each apron that I have received was either homemade or bought with love. It’s hard for me to conceive in my mind the generosity of my sweet followers who love with their whole heart.
I’m sure that many of you have children or grandchildren that are nonverble or have some different challenges. This goes to show that we all have short comings in one area or another. But we have been given a heart of love and compassion for one another.
The Lord loves us all and ask for us to love others too.

Easter Morning. Christ has risen. We have hope and a promise of life eternal for those who call on His name as Christ their savior.
I’m sitting in an old rocker in my bedroom at 3:30 am. thinking about life. Tons of thoughts are passing through my mind on this Easter Sunday Morning.
I’ve got a hot cup of coffee in my cup. Everyone who is visiting for Easter is asleep. I sit here sipping and thinking about my children and their spouses and of course my 5 grandchildren.
Praying for each one individually because each one has different needs. Praying that the Lord will intervene in every life decision. If we don’t pray for our own , WHO WILL.

The picture at the very end of this video has been a friend of mine for over 50 years. I was in my 20’s when we first met. How faithful is our love for one another. I took her and her sweet husband a plate of food from our event. They both are home bound now and unable to come to church. They both miss worshipping with fellow believers.

Dallas and William came to spend time with me for Easter. This was our Friday Night Dinner. We were all starving. William blessed the food and we couldn’t wait to dig in. Anna and Isabella couldn’t come. We missed them.
What a special time Easter is for our family. We serve a risen savior !
Mark 12 verse30 -31
And thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,with all thy soul and with all thy mind,and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like ,namely this, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these.

If the people in the world were following Jesus Christ - this world would be forever changed. Many do not know Him. But as for Me I do know His love and saving power.
He has risen from the grave. He has conquered death. He has promised to come again to get his children. He has given me and millions of others eternal life with Him. My prayer is that the eyes of people will be open to the Truth of God and they too will know of His love for them. Your life will NEVER be the same after you surrender to Jesus Christ.

Hush Puppies,Cabbage and Tea www.yallsweettea.com Spring is here. Our mouth scarves a cool refreshing drink. My drink of choice is tea !! I guess yard work and getting my hands in the soil is in my blood. Some of my fondest memories is being outside with my parents doing things in the yard. Yes, Mama served tea with every yard work experience. She’d bring the whole pitcher outside with a bunch of tin glasses. They were so cold in my hand. I can remember Daddy raring back and drink his tea with one long drink then pouring another glass. Life was good. I remember one time we were invited by some friends to come to their home for supper. They served water with the meal. We were in SHOCK !! I still remember it to this day. Getting back to my story- I cut back my boxwoods because they were getting to big. If you cut them in 8 inch pieces and put them down in some soil ( I put them in big flower pots) and keep them watered they will root. I root lots of plants roses too. Creamed Potatoes www.yallsweettea.com The most important thing about creamed potatoes is keeping the bowl nice and hot. Use hot milk and hot butter. Never serve them cold and hard. Never put the butter in until you have creamed the well. Last ingredient is milk. You can’t measure this just pour until they are nice a fluffy.
