Over a decade after world leaders gathered at the 1990 World Summit for Children to set ambitious
targets for improvements in child health and welfare, life for tens of millions of Africa's youngest
and most vulnerable inhabitants remains difficult, dangerous and, all too often, tragically short.
As the African Child Day was marked on June 16, it is relevant that we hold an extensive discussion
on the numerous threats faced by the African Child.
Join Ohenewaa Brown and her guests Noble Wisdom Dordoe , CEO of Give Me Hope Foundation, Cofie, Founder, Myhelp-YourHelp Foundation and Emmanuel Arthur, Child Internet Safety Campaigner at 4:00pm.

In this episode, we will be looking at sustainable ways to salvage the deteriorating situation.

Join Ohenewaa Brown and , Deputy National Director, A Rocha Ghana- at 4:00pm as they discuss ways to manage the current environment degradation.

As African economies look to restart and recover from the impacts of the pandemic, it is apparent that doing business as usual is not the way to go. The private sector has a responsibility in building the Africa we want, the Africa that meets the needs of the present but doesn’t take away the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

These and many more were the conclusions of the 3rd Africa Responsible Business Forum hosted by LBS Sustainability Centre, Shared Value Africa Initiative and Riara University School of Business.

In the next 3 hours we will be having a discussion on Street Children.

The protection of children from all forms of violence is a fundamental right enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of Child.

The inclusion of a specific target (SDG 16.2) in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to end all forms of violence against children gives renewed impetus towards the realization of the right of every child to live free from fear, neglect, abuse and exploitation.

As International Day for Street Children was marked on 12th April, we need to examine how the country is improving access to essential services for Street Children.

Ohenewaa Brown will be having a conversation with Street children Empowerment foundation , Paul Semeh on the role his organization is playing in this space.

Do join the conversation at 4:00pm

Cecelia Amankwah, Country Director for Engage Now Africa, has stressed the need for stakeholder partnership to ensure an end to modern day slavery practices in Ghana.

She said although her organisation is doing their best to clamp down on these illegal activities, the country will achieve more if stakeholders join forces and collectively put their shoulders to the wheel.

Speaking to Ohenewaa Brown on CSR Lense on Saturday, 10th April, Mrs. Amankwah noted that in their engagement with community leaders in the various communities that are faced with modern day slavery, they identified poverty, ignorance and cultural orientation as the root cause of these illegal activities in Ghana.
