Happy New Year!!🎉

Sooo… this photodump is a little late. One because I spent the past three days traveling to Australia and two (which is related to that) I’ve lost all sense of time.😅

I spent the past week back home in Switzerland and it was a busy, but amazing time. I was able to see so many of my friends and family members in such a short amount of time and even though I wasn’t really able to relax after exams, it still somehow re-energized me. (Mentally, physically I am exhausted hahhahah)

As I’m writing this, my first full day of my semester in Sydney is coming to an end. Today, I took care of the usual necessities (groceries, SIM card, public transport card, etc.), attended the orientation event and because of that went to my university campus for the first time, and explored the city a bit. All in all, a really nice first day here!!☺️(And not a bad way to start off the new year - although the fact that it’s summer is really throwing me off…)

I hope you had a nice start to 2024 too!🥰

With love,

It’s Christmas Eve! I know the traditions are different everywhere but here in the Czech Republic we do the big thing tonight. 🎄

Here’s the recap from the last couple of weeks cause I couldn’t show much of myself because of my haircut I was hiding and some other secrets 👀

1. Bringing home the Behtlehem light from Church where we go sing Christmas carols every year
2. The first photo I took after my haircut was done and I was surprisingly very happy with it
3. Picking up my friend from airport only to secretly come home with her early
4. Showing my new bag to the girls and telling them I’m obsessed
5. Having the last churros of the season
6. Studying for my last exam (and being over it)
7. Waking up to a stunning sunrise in my hometown that I’ve never seen before
8. Another kept secret - new dog
9. Enjoying a skiing holiday and acquiring new tiramisu obsession

Merry Christmas, I hope you enjoy it wherever you are, whoever you’re with and we’ll see you next year! 🫶🏻🎁

P.S. There’s no new podcast episode, we are both home right now and have to figure out a new schedule. Sorry!

What can I tell you… Eat, sleep, study, repeat.

Not a lot is happening currently, we’re honestly out of it BUUUUT I have a recommendation for you!

My amazing friend showed me (and inspired me) this video or channel where a guy streams his study sessions using the pomodoro method and it’s a GAME CHANGER, i swearrrr

Somehow you are able to focus on your work soo much better. So if you’re studying for exams right now got to this channel: https://youtube.com/?si=ayOeKUSJjLTI-1Hz and try it out for yourself!

Okay, that’s all I got for you today 😅 Ooo wait, I forgot to mention a new podcast episode came out today and it’s a very important topic!!

This past week was so exhausting yet so rewarding.

Because of the time change (meaning it’s now dark at 6PM) and the opening of the churros stand near our hniversity, we’ve decided that it’s officially Christmas time! Do you agree?🎄

November is definitely doing what November does best: bringing on the academic pressure. Suddenly we have weekly presentations that just keep coming and our first final exam is only three weeks away??😭

But for the weekend I went to Germany for a work event, which meant I got to escape university for a bit. But well… now I gotta catch up.😅

Aaand yesterday, we put out one of my favorite podcast episodes yet: it’s a pocket of comfort for anybody navigating the chaos that is your twenties.💌

The best part: it includes a bunch of out friends!☺️

Check it out, if you haven’t yet! It’s available on all platforms.

Honestly, this whole "only having three days of classes per week thing" is making the weeks go by really fast, it’s almost scary.😬

As much as I appreciate that the weekends just keep coming, I’d also like to postpone the end of the semester a little bit more, cause it already feels way to close…😅

September is gone and all the assignments that seemed to be far in the future are all the sudden due next week and I’ve still not processed the fact that I’m back at university.😅

To be honest, isn’t it the same thing every semester?

But well… this past week was a good one. But it did go by too fast for me to do any academic work or make any smart academic decision and now I’m trying to catch up.

But thankfully we have some holidays next week, which means it’s only gonna be a two day week. So I just gotta power through and then I can go back to enjoying my life.🥳

Aaaand… we put out a very special podcast episode today!!

Ana () shared her experience studying and working abroad in both France and the Czech Republic with us.

We really enjoyed getting to talk to her and learn about her story, so check it out if you haven’t yet.🥰

We’re back in Madrid and we’ve successfuly survived our first week of classes!👏🏻

Kristyna, in true Kristyna-fashion, arrived a couple of days late. And she has now even influenced me to do the same (well, I only arrived one day late, but still…).😅

I was incredibly unmotivated for this first week of classes. But honestly, in the end it wasn’t all that bad… And I was so happy to see all my friends again! So that made up for the rest.

On Saturday, I also finally got to see my dad again and we ended the week with our friend Paula’s Barbie-themed birthday celebration, which included painting at the park and sushi.🥳

And the good news is, that even though leaving my hometown again to start this new semester was really hard, the transition back to Madrid-life was really uncomplicated. Thankfully, I was able to settle back in really quickly.☺️

I hope you’re all doing well!🤎

Have you already started the new semester? Or are you about to?

Good morning! 🌞

I experienced something really cool and I almost robbed myself of it just because I was scared.

So, as you know, I was doing an internship in June. The same company offered me another opportunity.

They do a student camp at a movie festival in another city in the Czech republic every year for 8 students. It’s called Letní filmová škola Uherské Hradiště. 🎬🍿

I almost passed on this opportunity because I was scared I don’t have enough skills, that it will be too difficult and I also didn’t want to dedicate that much of my time in total of summer to internships and being away.

But after talking to my mom and friends, I realized this is maybe a one time chance and I pushed myself to do it.

And I DO NOT regret it. The festival was great, the team I worked in was truly amazing and so supportive and I learned so much.

I also realized I might be good at what I’m doing, maybe that I am going in the right direction and I might find a purpose in it ✨

So I guess what I’m trying to say is, don’t be scared or you know, BE scared but do things anyways. Don’t get intimidated by your own fears and insecurities and just try..

I guess that’s the main reason why I am studying abroad haha.

Sometimes things don’t work out and that’s okay but a lot of the times, they do! And it feels great to be on the other side because I am really proud of myself now for coming through 😇

Yes, I also saw Barbie and loved it and I’ve been trying to read but currently I’m reading The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood and I’m not having the best time 🫤

What’s the thing you were the most scared of but did anyways?

Hi! ☀️

My life’s been crazy lately. In a good way but also in a very hectic and a little exhausting way.

I have to say, I do appreciate life just in general lately. I feel like we tend to get caught up in our own little bubbles and focus a lot on the negatives. So i just wanted to thank the universe for steering me in the right direction. 😌

Soooo, i’ve been doing my first journalistic internship and it’s been crazy. They threw me into water and i had to learn how to swim by myself!

But it’s taught me a ton and i’ve been enjoying it. Since day 2 i think, they let me go to events and write stuff and published them 😲

But how have you been doing? I’m super curious to know how you’re spending your time off!

Please, please let me know 🤍

Hello! How are you doing on a Sunday?

Sunny weather left Madrid a couple of weeks ago but it’s okay (i guess) because we have to study anyways.. 😏

But the end of this semester is sooo close so we’re trying to hang in there and keep up the motivation.

As you could see in our instastory, we published a new podcast episode “From strangers to roommates: hard conversations, communication, our fears”.

We wanted to use a little pun from our instagram handle ~2strangers2roommates~ but wasn’t sure if anybody would notice so we’re putting it here at least 😅

Anyways.. Hope you’ll enjoy and if you have any stories of your own about living with friends, you can share it with us under this post.

We’d love to hear from you! ❤️

Hi!!!

The contrast of these photos is incredible. Kristyna got sick out of nowhere and was out the whole 10 days of the holidays.

Lauren on the other hand was living her best life hanging out with her grandparents, eating an incredibly delicious food (as you can see from the photos) 😋

In the new episode that came out today, we talk about our culture shocks in between life in Spain and our home countries (Switzerland and Chequia).

The obsession with lottery, invisible cross walks, watching tiktok on speaker in public transport and much more 😁

Hope you enjoy and let us know your culture shocks from where you live!

Links to platforms where you can listen AND to video format on youtube are in the description 😊

Helloo! We hope you’re doing well!☺️

A new podcast episode is out now.🥳

We talk about painting at the park, playing padel, and going on a spontaneous train trip to a beautiful village outside of Madrid (Lauren's newest "highlight of her life").😅

We decided to dedicate the main part of this episode to a very important topic: Daisy Jones & The Six the Series. We briefly touch on our our opinions on the book (we loved it, obviously), but mostly focus on what we thought of the show adaption.

And a warning: There are a lot of spoilers. So, if you haven't read the book / watched the show and are still planning too, maybe come back to this episode later.

We're also very interesting in hearing your opinions on the book and the show – so please let us know in the comments!

We hope you enjoy this episode: You can find the link in our bio, as always.🤎

Good morning!

How are you all doing in 2023? How is everything going? 💫

We are enjoying being home to the fullest (except for the fact that we still have to study for our economics exam).

As you can see, we’ve been loving nature and hanging out a lot with friends & family. ❤️

Our time home is short so we have to make the most out of it (which also sometimes might feel stressful and pressure but we’re managing).

The most important thing though (if you listen to our podcast, you knowww), we’ve been finally reading again!! And it’s the best thing ever. 🥰

Alright, no new podcast episode today (you can catch up on some older ones instead hihi), we’re still on our winter break.

Have a great week!

Summer break is here and we‘re both back in our hometowns.☺️

We‘ve been looking back at this past semester of our Journalism degree a lot.

How we experienced the different classes. How we managed the different assignments. What we enjoyed and what we struggled with.

For the most part, we both really enjoyed these past couple of months and we made some amazing memories.

But, of course, we also experienced some more challenging moments.

We learned a lot from these experiences. So, here‘s a list of the top 4 things we learned this past semester.🤎

And hopefully, we‘ll just keep getting better at this university thing.😅

Good evening 🌞

These two quotes are from our last podcast episode.

We talked about going home again and as one of the quote says, we were quite dramatic about it 😁

The first quote describes our summer perfectly. We’re trying to enjoy it as much as possible, especially time with our closest ones 💜

Hope you have are having a great weekend!
