My calendar year really just started on March 1, but every year I have a word to define what I want to guide my actions and keep as a reminder of what I want to achieve. Moving back home and figuring out how to adjust to a world that’s been moving without me is tough. So I’m reclaiming my space, my peace—all the things that make me whole. Anybody else in a season of change… Feeling like major life shifts are happening whether you’re ready or not? Well same! The days are starting to get shorter and leaves are slowly turning colors. I find myself trying to hold onto things that are proving to no longer serve me in the ways they once did. As much as I’m comforted by the contentment of life in this moment, I know growth is necessary for life of ease we all deserve. Here’s to the season of ease on the horizon! Huge praise to NCBW Greater Seattle x Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound for the invitation to sit on their panel “A New Take on Life” moderated by Dr. Denae Ford-Robinson.

The other panelists and I got to reflect on what has brought each of us to this point in our careers and how we choose to live boldly with the lessons learned along the way. A key takeaway is the importance of mentorship and relationship building as you navigate balancing work/personal life.

Helping young girls define their purpose and passion is one thing I’m going to always be the biggest advocate and I challenge everyone to find a way to give back even if it’s only your time and wisdom. 🤎
