1090am XEPRS is on the air with"Wolfman Jack" PM Drive / "Charlie Tuna" AM Drive. Streaming & website coming soon. ****The late, legendary Wolfman Jack has come home to the original "Border Blaster," XEPRS (The BIG 1090 AM)/San Diego, which recently changed format and is now the only radio station in San Diego and Los Angeles playing Oldies and featuring the late Wolfman Jack, who first created the character of "The Wolfman" on this very frequency in the early '60s during his days on the air at the former 1090 XERB.
"1090 AM XEPRS is a true blast from the past," said Marc Paskin, format creator and Station Manager. "We're thrilled to bring back the voices and music that defined an era, and no one embodies that better than Wolfman Jack." In addition to Wolfman Jack, now heard weekdays from 5-7pm PT, The BIG 1090 AM also features fellow radio legends Charlie Tuna, MG Kelly, El Chingón, and The Real Don Steele.
The new format coincides with the 85th birthday of XEPRS, which launched on Nov. 6, 1939. We are told that XERPS is the most powerful AM station in the U.S., with a daytime power output of 77,000 watts.
Paskin adds, "It's some of the world's greatest DJs, playing the world's greatest Oldies," says. “It really is radio the way it was meant to be heard." Wolfman Jack and Charlie Tuna's shows are both distributed and syndicated by TalentFarm.net.
