⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐A creature feature, spy story, and murder mystery all rolled into one⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"The book delivers on its promise of following a team of genetically-engineered were-cryptids, and the action is pulse-pounding and the illustrations are sleek. Quite a fun read.

There are a couple of uncomfortable details that are fairly well-telegraphed by the book summary that readers should be aware of beforehand, such as the narrative centering around Putin’s Russia as well as genetic experimentation on human embryos. Additionally, the fact that Nadia’s accelerated aging makes her functionally 15 years old while actually being 6 years old presented some ethical dilemmas for this reader.

That said, this story has all the fun of a creature feature, spy story, and murder mystery all rolled into one. It's action-packed from the get-go."
