UPDATE!

You may be wondering: “Where have Aaron and Megan been? Have they given up already?”

We have *not* given up, and we hate that we’ve disappeared lately.

The holidays hit us hard. Then a metaphorical tornado tore through our house, and a nasty cold ripped through as well. And Aaron got cast in a local production of The Music Man!!!

Things have been busy and crazy and messy; we’ve been floundering. But we’ve also been formulating! We think and talk about the podcast and our wonderful listeners every day and we’re dying to get more content out. Let’s call those first few episodes a “soft opening.” We’re on a little break right now doing some “construction” to get a little more organized and prepared. We’ll be back soon with an official opening!

How do you and your spouse manage your finances: together or separately? Check out this great blog post from A Prioritized Marriage!

A few years ago, I had someone ask me a question about how they should handle money in their marriage an the question startled me a bit. The jist of the question was whether or not their spouse should get a certain amount of “allowance” each month when they weren’t working at all, and the spou...

Family councils can be a great way to hear everyone's opinions about money, and help everyone to understand what each other's perspectives are.

In today's episode, Aaron and Megan talk about a recent family council they had with their kids, and how that pattern of communication can be applied to money matters.

In the comments below: What experiences have you had with family councils? Good experiences, bad experiences? We'd love to do a follow-up episode addressing your comments, so please like, share, and comment!

Holding family councils can be a great way to get on the same page on money with your spouse, and you can even use them to teach your kids how to handle money properly.
