A female Gauteng police officer allegedly insured her family members then went on a killing spree, wiping them out with the help of hitmen then claiming from insurance companies.

Among the people Constable Nomia Rosemary Ndlovu allegedly ordered hits on are her elderly mother, partner, two sisters as well as her five nephews and nieces.

By the time the killing spree that started in 2012 came to an end in 2018, six people had been been brutally killed and she had allegedly received almost R1.4 million in insurance claims.

However, it is believed that what finally brought her down was ordering a hit on her sister’s children, the youngest of whom was only five months old.

The “horrified” hitman informed the police and a trap was set leading to her arrest.

The body of a 45-year-old priest was recovered from a beach in La Mercy, north of Durban, by SAPS Search and Rescue, and Metro Search and Rescue officials, on Sunday morning.

The man is believed to have drowned when a large wave washed over him, while he was kneeling in prayer on the shore.

Reaction Unit spokesperson Prem Balram said the Zionist priest had been conducting a prayer at around 10pm, when he was swept out to sea.

"Reaction officers and medics were dispatched, following a call from a woman at the scene. When officers arrived, they were informed that the group was conducting rituals when the man entered the water," Balram said.

He said the man was crouched in a prayer position, when a large wave washed over him.

La Comisión de Reglamento de la Convención dio la última revisión al texto que terminó de ser analizado ayer viernes, luego de maratónicas jornadas para despachar más de 500 indicaciones. “La próxima semana trabajaremos en la armonización de las propuestas de las Comisiones. Lo que se definió en la votación del pleno es que esto iba a ser un trabajo de la comisión de Reglamento, con el apoyo de las coordinaciones de todas las otras comisiones con derecho a voz, y de la secretaría técnica”, explicó ayer Amaya Alvez a El Mostrador. Sobre la mesa también estarán las normas elaboradas por las otras comisiones transitorias de la Convención Constitucional, incluyendo la de Derechos Humanos y la de Participación Popular, que anoche finalizaron de madrugada sus propuestas.
