Keeping a Straight Face
“Keep a straight face.” Have you ever needed to tell yourself that? What was the situation? Why was it inappropriate to laugh, show anger, or cry?
Our lives are full of situations where we feel the need to hold back our emotions, but our passions shouldn’t be one of those instances.
I’m a highly competitive person with the ability to separate the person from the competition. I trash talk and rage at opponents, but post match it’s all back to normal. I laugh at my mistakes, but will take them as a learning opportunity.
Streaming is no different from any other hobby or activity. Too many times I catch myself trying to keep a level head and play it cool, when really I should build strength off of my emotional reactions. It’s energy that fuels the need to become something greater than I am in the situation at hand.
