Did you know that men are less likely than women to seek help for depression, substance abuse, and stressful life events due to social norms, a reluctance to talk, and a downplay of symptoms? That’s why this Men’s Mental Health Month we want to shout out actor Ryan Reynolds for taking the brave step of sharing his experience dealing with anxiety. Because of prominent figures like Ryan, we hope more men can feel comfortable speaking out about their mental health concerns and not suffer in silence.

It can be hard to know the right things to do or say when someone close to us is going through a hard time, but simply letting them know you are there for them is a great first step. Tell us something you've done or said to help support someone in need or what someone has done for you.

Frustration and anger. It can be easy to go from zero to Limp Bizkit in seconds, but maybe discussing the difference between the two and learning how to manage in those moments can make us a classy and graceful Merideth Brooks adult contemporary song about acceptance and empowerment.

Continuing our spotlight on with the incredible organization Asians Do Therapy

Asians Do Therapy was started by licensed marriage and family therapist Yin J. Li, MA LMFT. Yin created the organization in hoping that “highlighting Asian people’s experience in therapy and as therapists and sharing culturally relevant information, more Asians and Asian Americans will seek therapy as a resource, available and meant for us.”

Asians Do Therapy provides incredible resources, firsthand stories, and even a podcast dedicated to their mission. Visit the link in our bio to find out more.

In a world where we are objectified, fetishized, made to feel invisible, emasculated, scapegoated, exploited, pigeonholed, much of healing work for Asian and Asian Americans is to reconnect to our own humanity.⁣

So, as we fight, let’s hold on to our tenderness. ⁣

Allow yourself to soften, to cry, to receive support, to find joy, to rest. ⁣

"Dear Stranger, ⁣

Just in case no one has told you recently, YOU ARE LOVED!! Even when things get rough, do not forge that. I promise that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Some days I do not want to get out of bed, I just lack motivation 😞 I bring myself up and think of all the HAPPY things that there are like my friends, pets, or family! What makes YOU happy? I wish nothing but love, happiness, and good days ahead for you! ⁣

Love, ⁣
a stranger 😊 ❤️"⁣

As we take time to process our grief and shock over the violent loss of life in Atlanta, we ask for space and understanding as we are overwhelmed with mentions and messages. We see your words of support and donations coming in and appreciate it greatly. ⠀
⠀
At this time, we will be prioritizing opening message requests with information and resources that need to be boosted to the community. We welcome organizations hoping to donate and support us through various initiatives, however, we are unable to lend our emotional labour through collaborations right now. ⠀
⠀
Before tagging us in posts and stories we ask that you read through about who we are (an all-volunteer organization) and what resources and programs we do offer. Links to all resources can be found in our link in bio and our highlight labeled "our resources".⠀
⠀
Thank you, and please take care of yourselves and each other out there.
