In our interview with @carolatlovering we discuss an article she wrote for Marie Claire in which she shares what she has learned (the hard way) about ambition and juggling the demands of writing and being a mother. In the conversation, we get personal and discuss our struggles with learning to say no, prioritizing and delegating. Listen to this clip and then check out our full interview with Carola about her new novel, Can’t Look Away, wherever you get your podcasts!
In celebration of the paperback release of Seven Days In June by @tiawilliamswrites, Kate fluffed her 🦁mane in honor of her fellow Leo, Tia, and took to the humiliating medium of video to share just a few of the reasons we love this book so much. We know we’re not alone (hellooo @reesesbookclub pick) so share your love in comments! And listen to our interview with Tia on #SevenDaysInJune (and our prior interview on #ThePerfectFind) wherever you get your podcasts (link in bio and stories).
SOUND ON - LISTEN NOW to a clip from our recent episode on The Lost Daughter. Are all the women in this photo “unnatural mothers”? Are we ALL because society’s expectations of mothers are unnatural and unrealistic? We can’t stop thinking about this idea and motherhood generally. If you want to deep dive with us, check
out our episode now (link in bio)!
Listen to this clip from our episode on Promising Young Woman where our special guest host, @caroclaireburke, blows our minds with her reminder that really good art forces you to re-examine the world around you and how this movie wakes us up, changing everything in a moment! We couldn’t agree more.

Sound on! Listen to hear this clip about how Thelma & Louise helped us further solidify the mission of this podcast! Our episode on a familiar classic really surprised us in the best possible ways, the ways that truly matter. We hope you’ll listen and let us know what you think!
Ever Thelma needs a Louise and every Louise needs a Thelma. Or as we like to say, every Carinn needs a Kate and every Kate needs a Carinn! #rideordiechick

It’s “Sally Sunday” and our fourth and final installment of our read-along recaps, covering pages 247 through the end of Beautiful World, Where Are You, is out now! We’re so sad to say goodbye to our Sally Sundays and the conversations her novel prompts for us.
We’ve saved the best for last! We discuss Simon & Eileen’s growth and how the ways they each love has caused us to question our own relationships. There is room on the couch for both of us on this one! Alice & Felix are a dramatic, fiery pair, but we love the ways in which they come together. Of course we talk about that ending and whether it feels like Sally or not. In our true “what she said” fashion, we can’t finish our recaps without deep diving into first person quotes from Sally herself. She gives us this gem about unlikeable characters that we will hold onto forever - listen to hear the whole quote!
Thanks for reading along with us!
We’re back with what we’re calling “the middle and the miscommunications” in our “Sally Sundays”. We have your read-along recap of pages 147-247 of Beautiful World, Where Are You.
On this episode we debate the miscommunication spectrum of Eileen & Simon, Alice & Felix and Marianne & Connell (listen to the snippet of our chat) and go deep into how power dynamics between two people factor into miscommunications. We put ourselves and the characters “on the couch” and ask big questions like: Does love come before a relationship or does a relationship come before love? What is the “hate” in the thin line between love and hate? What are you really desiring? Our brains hurt just writing this but, to use Sally’s own words from this section, her novel certainly engages our sympathies!
Keep reading along with us into Sally’s beautiful (and complicated) world!
