We had an absolute blast at today! We are so lucky that my sister was able to keep the girls for us so mom and dad could spend some quality time together! I wish we could do this more often because I absolutely would! Also, highly recommend riding the new in the dark!

How is my baby already 2? Today is Athena’s 2nd birthday and I can’t believe I am so blessed to be her mama. She is smart, she is strong, she is a fighter, and she will surely be a force to be reckoned with one day.

Y’all I did not wanna get up this morning. Last week I started waking up early to get in a workout before the kids get up. It helps me start my day off right and gets my workout done early so I don’t have to try to fit in a workout later in the day. But today was the day I lost motivation and just didn’t wanna keep waking up early. I’m tired. I’m not a morning person at all. The first week of waking up early I had lots of motivation. But what do you do when you lose that motivation? You can’t depend on staying motivated 100% of the time. You have to lean into your discipline. You have to have discipline to stay consistent. If you depend on having motivation you won’t be consistent and you won’t see the results you’ve been striving for. So today called for discipline and determination. I am determined to take control of my health and create a better life for myself and a better example for my kids. I may have snoozed my alarm, but I got up and got it done. And when my daughter woke up and watched me finish my workout she kept repeating “mommy you’re so strong.” That’s why I do this. My girls need to see that girls can be strong too. Girls can do it too.

WEAR 👏🏼 THE 👏🏼 DAMN 👏🏼 SPORTS BRA 👏🏼
If you were ever looking for a written invitation to wear the sports bra here it is. Wear the damn sports bra. Today was a monumental day for me. I wore the sports bra. We went for a hike and I had a giant backpack on my back and it was so stinkin hot. We stopped for a sip of water and I just thought, “Wtf am I doing? I’m melting. No one is looking at me. No one cares if I’m wearing this t-shirt or a sports bra. No one cares.” So I took off my T-shirt and was able to actually breathe a little bit and not melt into the ground. This was a big deal for me because I definitely don’t look like I did fresh out of high school but even back then I would never have been comfortable and confident enough to do a hike in a sports bra. So here it is. Wear the damn sports bra and get out there and enjoy your life.

You may see this and say it’s just a crazy person drinking some Pepsi.. and I mean you’re not totally wrong. But this is also a person giving themselves grace. Today has been a nightmare. I had two options, keep going through my day grasping at straws struggling to keep my head above water, or I could take a beat, order the Taco Bell, regroup, and keep on truckin after. So that’s what it did. Did I screw up my diet a bit? Yeah, but I don’t have to completely fall off the wagon. I had my snack, and I will hop back on this afternoon. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. So here is your reminder to just give yourself some grace.

I did a crazy thing today and took the girls to the zoo by myself for the first time. They had a blast but boy are we all wiped! It was nice to be able to get the girls out of the house for some fun though! Thank goodness for that wrist leash though! It has a lock on the child side with a key attached to the parent side so she can’t just unhook it or someone can’t come by and undo it. I never thought I would be a crazy leash mom but here I am. I’ll post a photo of the one I have from amazon in my favorite things highlight reel.

This is me being EXTREMELY vulnerable. This is me at my current state. I may not be obese or anything but I am also not healthy. I keep hopping on the wagon and then soon after falling off but this time I’m determined to stick with it and put in the effort it takes to succeed. I have seen the difference it makes in my day to day life when I make my health a priority. I’m determined to do this not only for myself but for my kids.

I’d say we had a very successful Easter this year! Spent the day with family at the cabin and had an Easter egg hunt for the girls! They had so much fun and look so stinkin adorable in their Easter dresses!

Sometimes (actually most of the time) I question my abilities as a mom and if I’m ever doing the right thing. Then this little girl shows me I must be doing something right.
Athena fell down and bonked her head this morning and while she wasn’t injured or anything she was crying as babies do. I was rocking her trying to console her when Freya ran to Athena’s room to grab her favorite stuffed turtle, gave it to Athena, kissed her on the forehead, and began humming the tune I always hummed to them when they are tired and ready for bed.
She loves her sister so much and it makes my heart so happy to see how much she cares for her. She’s such a good big sister. While she can be rough at times, she’s always there to try to help make her little sister feel better. This girl is growing up to be such a sweet little lady.

Today has been a long day. And I am so stinking tired. It’s not even 8 pm and I’m ready to go to bed. But it was all worth it. Remember mamas, it’s totally fine to have some adult time away from the kids. Get some adult interaction. You may wind up talking about your kids the whole time and that’s okay too. We need time away to recharge our batteries. And the greeting from your little monsters when you walk in the door is so worth it all.

I don’t have any “good” pictures of my girls in their costumes last night because honestly, we just were having too much fun. Their cousin came down to trick or treat with us and we all had a blast. I’m so glad we got to share in this with family. This was a Halloween we’ll never forget. I hope everyone had a spectacular Halloween! 🎃👻💀

I may or may not be hiding from my child so I can drink my in peace without her stealing it. We did yard work today. It was my idea. If you know me well enough you’re probably crapping your pants right about now. I don’t do yard work. I hate it with a passion. But we got a ton done, but I’m still getting over this gunk that’s been going around. It’s so stinking hot out so as soon as I was done I came inside, made my green tea (check my stories), and also a bottle of my passion fruit liquid iv. Need all the help I can get to get over this crap.

We were having some major cabin fever so we loaded up the car and drove down to Garden of the Gods park! We packed lunch and had a picnic in the park! Got some much needed fresh air and vitamin d! And it was all free! You don’t have to spend money to have fun out of the house!

I want to be real with you all because on social media you tend to only see the highlights... the best moments instead of the whole picture. Lately I have been feeling.. I don’t even know. I feel like I’m drowning. As moms, parents, we tend to carry a lot on our shoulders. I want to keep my children happy, my husband happy, but I also need to find my own happiness. I want happiness and security for my family. Finding the balance in all of this craziness is hard. Finding peace in the chaos has been even harder.

My final results are in! You guys do you see the difference in my waist? My neck? My back? I didn’t drop a ton on the scale but man I see a huuuuge difference in these photos! I could have done better. It was a big learning experience and I had some mental health struggles along the way but my girl kept me on track and focused and didn’t let me get discouraged and give up! (Shout out ) This is definitely not the end for me and I will absolutely be using this app to help me not go off the rails during our move back to the states! It’s this crazy girls second birthday today. My oldest. My firstborn. The one that made me a mom. The one that changed my life forever. Where has the time gone? Just yesterday she was so itty bitty coming home from the hospital and now she is a big sister to another little baby! And she is the best big sister too! She has so much s***k, she’s so strong, but also so kind, and caring. I so want to see what kind of woman you grow up to be. But please, take your time. Happy Birthday Freya Leigh Rutkowski 🎉
