Fabulous night of comedy tonight at Robert Harris in Rolleston with Bec Sandy. Great to see locals still being able to enjoy themselves with a bit of a laugh in these uncertain times. Keep an eye out on the Robert Harris Rolly page for more events like this in the future.

Hi Everyone, if you or your kids are looking for something to do over lockdown, why not create some content for Positively Selwyn. I could be a short story, an interview with a parent or sibling or an original song. Just record it in mp3 using a phone or other recording device and send it in to me and I’ll put it onto the station. You can listen in at www.positivitynz.radio and click on the Selwyn link. Start off by telling us your name where in Selwyn you are from ie Rolleston, Lincoln, Kirwee etc and what it is you are going to share. Try and keep it to no longer than 3 - 4 mins max if you can. Not all submissions will be able to play on air but I’ll let you know why if it can’t and what you might need to change. Submissions can be emailed to [email protected]

Congratulations to the very talented cast and crew at Kirwee Players. I had the pleasure of seeing the production of Westside Story on Friday night. Was a long time in the making but worth the payoff in the end. Kirwee will be putting on a play later in the year so keep an eye out for details on their page.

Fantastic night at the Selwyn Awards last night. What a fantastic region we live in. Well done to all of the awardees and thanks to the Selwyn District Council for putting on a great night.

Had the pleasure of attending the Nathan Phillips Vocals and Elite Studios Pitch evening on Thursday. Some amazing local talent singing their heart out at Larcombs Vineyard. Selwyn has loads of great singers and opportunities for them to perform and I look forward to seeing where these guys end up.

So there is some great new content on the station from Today, you can hear all about how to look after Rhododendrons, get some wise advise from a Yoga instructor or listen to the kids from Kirwee players talk about the Lion King which finished last weekend but had sold out Audiences after being postponed due to Covid 19.

Positively Selwyn was at the Annual Lincoln High School Musical Showcase tonight. Lots of amazingly talented kids performing their hearts out. Well done to everyone involved.

Positively Selwyn spent last weekend at the Affinity Gymnastics Junior and Senior Challenge. It was great to see so many local children competing and a big thanks goes out to the clubs from around the south island that traveled to Rolleston to take part also. There are some very talented young people out there and many are from our own community.

Last night I was invited along to an open evening for the amazing Saints of Taitapu where I met some amazing people. Thanks to Jase and for a fantastic evening. What a fantastic venue for a corporate function or a secret weekend escape. There are some fantastic stories hidden in the building and it really is a celebration of christchurch heritage with many of the elements being recycled from earthquake damaged churches and buildings. Listen out for the interview with Jase where he talks about this fantastic restoration.

Great meeting today with Mark, Colette, Ryan, Eric and Hayley discussing content ideas for the station. Look out for them around the district and don't be alarmed if they are armed with a cellphone with a sock over it, as this is just a state of the art pop filter.
