Been a minute. I’m looking to stream on the Ides of March (tomorrow, the 15th) and finally hop back into some ranked fighting. I’ve been working on these two, Kunimitsu and Ramlethal. Nerding it up a little slower than usual tonight. Going back to some Magic the Gathering Arena with a set that just dropped last week, Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. It is a fun set with ninjas and mechs. The fan fighter has interesting double hit projectiles and some armored attacks so he looks to have more tricks in his kit than the average character. Big guys in fighting games have been there as an archetype since day one. From bear wrestlers to outlaw ninjas to robots who always skipped leg day, they are always present. In Guilty Gear: Strive, we got Potemkin. A slave turned military officer who has been blessed with an imposing stature, his reach and power are undeniable in game but his story certainly paints him more on intellectual side of the plots. You know, I think it would be frowned upon to bring a gun to a fist/bat/sword/anchor fight, but in Guilty Gear: Strive, it really doesn’t make a big difference. Tonight I’ll play Happy Chaos, a gun wielding devil with a halo. His kit has been described as very hard to handle so I’m not expecting to climb the ranks with this one. Until I did Zato-1’s taunt, I thought he controlled a shadow demon. Turns out he just has a black cat that gets red eye in photos. Testing my GRIP technique once again tonight. This combat racer is getting more punishing and that makes it good. After that, its time to whip my hair back and forth to beat people up in Guilty Gear: Strive with Millia Rage. If you enjoy arcade racers, I think you should definitely check out GRIP. The games is proving to have more to it than I anticipated. I’m jamming a couple more campaign races today starting at 6:00pm EST. After that, its on to Guilty Gear: Strive and the vampire samurai Nagoriyuki. Hopefully I can get a handle on this daredevil faster than I did Jack-o’. Happy Monday, ugh. Tonight I’ll begin the campaign mode of GRIP, a combat racing game recommend to me on my Discord. The vehicles in this game are all designed to drive upside down while attacking each other with fighter jet weapons. Should be interesting driving on the ceiling while dodging shrapnel. After a 2 hour grind of races, I’ll hop back on Guilty Gear:Strive. This and the next couple weeks, I’ll be focusing on learning the roster with Jack-O’ being the first character I try. Ok, gonna pull one more stretch grinding some Guilty Gear: Strive with Giovanna. I’m currently on the 7th floor which apparently everyone is either worse or better than because I get plenty of practice time between matches and constant rematches. Well, I am playing Guilty Gear so I might as well get the obligatory Jack O picture out of the way. She is a weird character I think I have fought all of twice now. I’m finally feeling somewhat comfortable playing the game. Every new character I fight is a giant learning curve but it is fun. These 2 (Ky and Sol) are showing up more in my Guilty Gear Strive matches. Thanks to a very helpful viewer, I feel like I continued to improve thru yesterday’s matches. This game still feels very unintuitive, but I’m getting to grips with it. My nose will be back to that grindstone tonight at 6:00pm EST, and if you’ve tuned in to see me you know that is one stone that’s in for a bad time. So it definitely was a bumpy first day. Getting back into 2d fighters isn’t too easy for me, I’m so used to my Tekkens. Tonight I’ll continue the adjustment to this interesting game with Giovanna. I don’t know if it’s just what people in my terrible starting rank play or if her influence extends beyond that, but I easily fought 2 Ramlethal for every other character I encountered. It’s new year’s eve so I’m sure we all got some late evening plans. If you want join me to kill some of the afternoon hours, I’ll be streaming some Tekken 7 ranked roulette. Got through Shadow of the Colossus much faster than last time, not tackling something like that today tho (December 30th). At 6:00pm EST, I’ll try the campaign mode of Hot Wheels:Unleashed. This arcade racer got much better reviews than expected and I’ve been itching to find a replacement for Burnout 1-3 on the latest consoles. (That game never needed an open world).
