Induction of 36 Rafales into IAF by 2022: IAF Chief

NEW DELHI: Indian Air Force Chief RKS Bhadauria on Saturday said the induction of 36 Rafale aircraft into the Indian Air Force would take place by 2022.

The IAF is absolutely on target with respect to the Rafale induction plan, he said while responding to a reporters' query on timeline for receiving the 36 fighter jets from France.

"The target is 2022. It is absolutely on target. I mentioned earlier. Except for one or two aircraft, minor delays because of COVID related issues, but, in fact, some deliveries have been ahead of time. So, broadly, we are absolutely on target on the Rafale induction plan," he said.

On the operationalisation plan, you are aware, we are fully operational.. so, in terms of time, we will be absolutely on time," he told reporters after reviewing the Combined Graduation Parade at the Air Force Academy in
Dundigal in Hyderabad.

In 2016, India had signed an inter-governmental agreement with France to procure 36-Rafale jets at a cost Rs 59,000 crore.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had in February said the country would have the entire fleet of the fighter aircraft by April 2022.

J&K’s local talent to register themselves for Film Policy website

:- With a view to promote film tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, the UT Government is in the process of finalizing J&K Film Policy. The Policy will showcase the splendid locales of J&K besides assisting the film makers who intend to shoot their films here to scout for locations, local talent and facilities, besides obtaining the required clearances.

The recent fast-track selection of over 8500 youngsters against class-IV posts has been widely hailed.

The J&K Services Selection Board (SSB) had advertised 8575 class-IV posts in June 2020 which saw tens of thousands of educated unemployed youth applying. The process of selection was completed within the shortest possible time.

An official said that 8575 class-IV vacancies were advertised by the SSB under the ‘Accelerated Recruitment Programme’ launched by the LG Administration.

“The main aim of the Accelerated Recruitment Programme is to fill the available vacancies in various government departments in a time-bound and transparent manner,” the official said.

The new rules for recruitment against class-IV vacancies envisage selection only on the basis of a common written test while the interview for these posts has been completely dispensed with.

“I am quite glad and thankful to the government for bringing in new rules which are youth-friendly, fair and transparent in that they ensure time-bound conclusion of the recruitment process,” Aijaz Ahmad, a Srinagar-based youngster said.

He admired the new recruitment rules for giving additional weightage to domiciles, extra points to economically weaker groups like widows, divorcees, casual, daily rated workers, and families having no member working in the government sector.

Many job aspirants said that the SSB has maintained "first rate standard of transparency and fairness” in all the recently held written examinations besides ensuring time-bound declaration of results despite odds and difficulties caused by the outbreak of COVID19 pandemic.

The SSB officials said the board is keen to complete the selection for rest of the posts referred under Accelerated Recruitment Programme as and when the situation improves.

Many candidates expressed satisfaction over the Accelerated Recruitment Programme and thanked the LG Administration “for taking youth-friendly measures in J&K”.

It may be mentioned that earlier the SSB declared result/notified percentile merit for 8575 District/Divisional/UT cadre posts of class-IV pertaining to various departments which were advertised under provisions of the Jammu & Kashmir.

Shiv Sena appeals LG to commence Shri Amarnath Yatra

: Shiv Sena Balasaheb Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir unit leaders have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to issue directions for commencement of the annual pilgrimage to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji.

Doznes Shiv Sanik's led by President UT J&K staged protest demonstration for the for resumption of Holy Shri Amarnath Ji yatra.

Manish Sahni, welcomed the J&K High Court decision relaxing the mandatory formality of three years balance sheet for the anchor service providers serving the pilgrims during the holy Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. Sahni said that Shiv Sena whole heartedly welcomes the statement of the Army Chief General Naravane in which he said that the Army is fully prepared and has made all the necessary arrangements regarding the Amarnath Yatra.

The Shiv Sena President expressed the hope that now the holy Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra shall be commenced at the earliest especially in view of the fact that the sentiments of crores of Hindus are linked to this most holy pilgrimage.

Sahni said that due to the pandemic and the Corona curfew everything had come to a standstill across the nation and now that major states and Union Territories including Jammu and Kashmir are rapidly moving towards unlocking it has provided a ray of hope for moving towards normalcy. He said that the doors of the world-famous Dwarkadhish temple of Mathura have also been opened for the devotees and in these circumstances there should be no room for any confusion for conducting the sacred Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra as the devotees of Lord Shiva have been anxiously waiting to have the Darshan of the holy Ice Lingam in Kashmir.

Sahni suggested that in case the government has any genuine apprehensions pertaining to security or spread of Corona virus, it should limit the number of pilgrims this year besides focussing on strictly enforcing the COVID-19 SOPs during the Yatra.

Sahni said that he sincerely hopes that the Honorable Lieutenant Governor does not disappoint the Shiva devotees.
