We just released a new episode with coverage of Western States Endurance Run (interviews with both winners Ruth Croft and Adam Peterman), La Sportiva Lavaredo Ultra Trail by UTMB (interview with male winner and course record breaker Hannes Namberger) and Marathon du Mont-Blanc (interview with male winner Jonathan Albon).

Ida Nilsson is returning as co-host directly from the home of Lavaredo female winner Mimmi Kotka (who was not able to join).

New episode out! Emelie Forsberg is joining us in our virtual studio from Måndalen in Norway and tells us about her way back to racing, participating in Zegama Aizkorri marathon and VK (which she won), the philosophy behind moonvalley.me and NNormal and future plans. Of course we also reflect on Kilian Jornets 10th victory (and new course record). We also have womens winner .brinkman on the show. She crushed the course record at Zegama Aizkorri and is at world class level in both trail running and marathon aiming for Golden Trail Series and the European marathon championship during 2022.

In the fifth episode of Ultrarunning news we had the honor of interviewing the rising Ultra star Adam Peterman fresh off his victory and course record at Chuckanut 50k. A very humble and nice person who you will hear more about in the upcoming years! We also interviewed Janet Ng, president of ITRA - International Trail Running Association about the role of ITRA in todays trail running ecosystem. And news about that Outside Magazine had acquired Fastest Known Time led us to interview the man behind the FKT trend Buzz Burrell.

The Barkley Marathons has become one of the most iconic ultra races in the world, despite that almost no one manages to finish it. This year we didn't see any finisher, but the stories and struggles in Frozen Head State Park filled our fourth episode back in March. We had the legend Lazarus Lake Lazarus Lake on as co-host and interviewed Karel Sabbe Ultrarunning who was the one who stayed on the course the longest.

TransGrancanaria has established itself as the main "season opener" in the European ultra trail scene. This year it was also part of Spartan Trail world series and in our third episode we had Ida Nilsson on as co-host talking about everything Trans Gran Canaria.

We managed to get interviews with both the mens and womens top two finishers in the race which gave a unique and fresh insight into the minds of some of this sports best athletes. Pablo Villa and Pau Capell battled it out on the mens side, while Ragna Debats and Abby Hall were number 1 and 2 among the women.

Well worth a listen also two months later (ie today) if you haven't heard it yet!

We have a new episode out! We report from two LONG and epic races from the weekend. The Race of the Champions in Germany. A high profile Backyard Ultra where Belgian Merijn Geerts - Ultraloper was the last one standing assisted by Irishman Keith Russel. The new backyard ultra world record is an unbelievable 90 hours!

We have both Merijn and Keith on the show for proper race briefings recorded yesterday just a few hours after the finish.

At the UltraPark Weekend in Poland we saw a new WORLD RECORD in 48 hour running by Patrycja Bereznowska and an impressive new Polish record ( #6 in the world through all times) in 24 hour running by Andrzej 'meloniq' Piotrowski. We of course interviewed them both a few days after the race.

We kicked this project off mid February after having met the superstar Kilian Jornet in the south of Sweden (running his first 100 miler in several years). Daniel Westergren interviewed him right after the finish. It had been an idea for some time to do an international news podcast about Ultrarunning (something that was lacking in the market), and now the stars aligned and we could start strong having one of the GOATs of ultrarunning as a guest in our very first episode.

Christian Malmström also interviewed Dominika Stelmach who was fresh off an impressive second place finish (and a golden ticket for Western States Endurance Run) at the Black Canyon Ultras by Aravaipa Running. After a bad fall in the race and long travel back home to Poland she was bruised and tired but happy to share her story.

A few weeks earlier Kullamannen by UTMB had announced the first UTMB World Series race in the Nordics and of course we had to interview Ulf Öman and Per Sjögren about that. And the first episode was complete and the project started!

New episode out now - 250 miles races with Paul Mason & Annie Hughes

In this (the 9th) episode of the Ultrarunning News podcast we have interesting interviews from two long 250 mile races, Thames Ring 250 (by Challenge Running Ltd) and Cocodona 250 (by Aravaipa).

Paul Mason ran TWO laps of Thames Ring and 24-year old Annie Hughes won Cocodona and placed third overall.
