INGREDIENTS
🐮 5 pounds of beef back ribs
FOR THE MARINADE
🐮1 cup canola or vegetable oil
🐮1/2 cup cider vinegar
🐮3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
🐮1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon soy sauce
🐮1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
🐮1 teaspoon garlic powder
🐮1/2 teaspoon onion powder
🐮1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
BARBECUE SAUCE [optional, can use BBQ sauce]
🐮2 tablespoons unsalted butter
🐮1 1/2 cups ketchup
🐮1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
🐮1/4 cup steak sauce or marinade
🐮2 tablespoons unsulfured molasses
🐮1/2 teaspoon onion powder
🐮1/8 teaspoon liquid smoke
🐮Freshly ground pepper
🍖 For the Marinade:
Mix all the marinade ingredients together until well blended. Place the ribs in a large baking dish and pour the marinade over them. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, occasionally basting the ribs.
Preheat the oven to 300°F. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake the ribs for 2 hours.
Increase the oven temperature to 350°F. Remove the foil, baste the ribs with barbecue sauce, and continue baking for another 45 minutes, basting every 15 minutes. The ribs should be tender, with the meat easily falling off the bone.
Serve the ribs with the remaining barbecue sauce on the side.
🍖 For the Barbecue Sauce [optional]:
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the remaining ingredients, whisking until well combined. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
