Remembrance Sunday - 2 minute silence
At 11AM today, and again on Monday, Street Sounds Radio will observe a 2-minute silence in remembrance, honouring those who have given their lives in service, our brave men and women in uniform, as well as the civilians who have sacrificed for the values we hold dear.

This moment is dedicated to reflecting on their courage and to expressing our deep gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy. We also extend our thoughts to those who continue to serve, upholding the democratic way of life that binds us together. Please join us in this solemn moment of respect.

Quincy Delight Jones Jr. (March 14, 1933 – November 3, 2024) – RIP

Street Sounds family, please comment below and tell us your favourite Quincy track/production and anything else related to the man & his music.

Quincy Jones was (is) a titan in the record industry, a producer & artist extraordinaire, his genius was recognised with 28 Grammys and an Oscar. His music and legacy will live on forever. He worked with Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Lionel Richie, Will Smith, Count Basie, Patti Austin, Donna Summer, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davies and many others.

Jones composed soundtracks for more than 50 films and TV programmes. Quincy’s film scores included “In The Heat Of The Night”, “The Color Purple” and “The Italian Job”. His TV theme music spanned shows including “Sanford and Son”, “Ironside” and an early version of the catchy theme to “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.

However, his work with Michael Jackson on “Off The Wall”, “Thriller” & “Bad” will be to many his most recognised & successful masterpieces.
