Why is your education important to you? I have a bachelor's degree in animal science. I took the typical path to college and had a typical 4 year plan. When my love for social media started to grow and my interest in web design was born I decided it was time to go back to school doing something I had NEVER thought I would do. Taking courses towards a New Media degree have turned my dream into a reality and that's one of the big reasons why higher education is so important to me.

Going back to school was never my intention - but here we are. The New Media program at Clark State College checked all the boxes when I decided to pursue a more formal education in social media. I have adored each class I have taken so far and look forward to what is next! Each course has taught me something new about social media and how to connect with others through a screen. I use to think I 'knew enough' about social media due to the world I grew up in and the generation I was born into. Boy, was I wrong! there is so much more out there than meets the eye. My encouragement to you is - you can do it to! Is there something out there in the big blue world that you're curious about? Go and find out!

Why Clark State College? I decided to go back to school to pursue an education in New Media in late 2019. Unfortunately, COVID-19 put a stop to those plans until 2021. I am finally spreading my wings and learning all the ins and outs of social media thanks to Clark State! They have great online learning options that met my exact needs.

My passion for social media and web design started on a whim. I was the youngest person working at a non-profit and all the social media platforms were dumped on my lap. Boy, I am so glad they were! My love for social media was born and I haven't looked back since!
