I am thrilled with the personal growth I've experienced. Looking back, I appreciate the beauty of my past, while eagerly anticipating a bright future. Each day brings me excitement and fulfillment. Although I occasionally engage in activities that may not be my preference, I approach them with a positive mindset and complete them without dwelling on negativity. Currently, I am actively exploring new opportunities and taking advantage of the abundance of support available to me. By putting in consistent effort, remaining patient, and embracing a loving attitude, I am confident in creating a wonderful life for myself.

Happy Wednesday!!! Cherish the Day!!!Seize the Moment!!!

This Motherā€™s Day, I donā€™t have updated pics of my special ladies in my life, so I use pics of the woman that they were instrumental in creating. Itā€™s been several months since Iā€™ve seen them so I know the reunion will be all so sweet once we meet again. I give all respect to my Mom and Aunt Flora. I shared a post last Motherā€™s Day and I didnā€™t expect it to get so much attention only because there are so many others who have special women/mothers in their life that were effective in making them solid, loving and positively contributing people for a better World for all of US to live peacefully and beautifully.

I must share that about a month ago they made a shift to be more conscious when it comes to their health, and I couldnā€™t be prouder and happier for their decisionšŸ…. I want them to always know they are in control of their level of happiness (God has given us all free will). Every step toward co-creating for a better life no matter how small it may look to others is monumental for you, just keep going. Be thankful for God shifting you into a better and renewed soul, relish in that moment.

My love for these ladies will never waver and will always remain strong and solid. With me being so far away for now, I am thankful that I can continue to feel their love and even more blessed to be part of a family who have taken me in where I am now who shows me the same love.

Happy Motherā€™s Dayā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

"Wow, what a weekend! šŸ˜ I experienced my very first Nigerian Wedding and it was an experience I'll always cherish. From the very start, I was captivated by the deep-rooted traditions that were interwoven throughout the entire celebration. It wasn't just a ceremony, it was a grand production - a beautiful showcase of joy, love, and care.

Every aspect of the wedding had a purpose and significance, from the intricate ceremony rituals to the colorful and stylish native wear that everyone donned. Speaking of style, I have to say, the outfits were nothing short of stunning. The bride and groom looked like royalty.

One of the highlights of the wedding was the engagement ceremony - a lengthy and elaborate affair that symbolized the acceptance of both the bride and groom into each other's families. The MC presiding over the ceremony was an absolute pro, commanding the attention of the crowd with her poise and grace. She knew exactly what she was doing šŸ¤“.

All in all, it was an unforgettable experience that left me feeling both humbled and inspired. The Nigerian Wedding is a true testament to the power of tradition, love, and community."

Check this Airbnb out! Another $50 per night. I know I mentioned it in my stories that I was taking a road trip to Lagos to go grocery shopping for items that are more challenging to find, but I also came here for another purpose. I will share that next week!

I sooo appreciate everyone that is here with me. I hope youā€™re enjoying the content. šŸ¤“

Before slavery in West Africa, diets consisted of mainly plantbased meals. Researchers have gathered samples of food that were cooked in ancient pots that identified plants as being the predominant food source and in most cases could not find traces of animals. Personally I find this so puzzling, especially being here in West Africa and Ibadan to be specific of feeling like the odd person out when I go to restaurants to try and order a meal without any animal byproduct, whatsoever! It is beyond challenging and at times frustrating to find the things that I need here, but it doesnā€™t take away from the authentic love that I have for this country. We have gotten so far away from our history and seeing food as having ultimate healing properties, eating to live. Do the research and make your time count.

Yes, I enjoy eating out, but I more so enjoy creating in the kitchen.

This is my first post to kick-off Americaā€™s holiday of Black History Month!

My trip to Ghana was extremely peaceful and is a place that I would love to visit again. The price of this Airbnb for one week was $385.72 and I got a lot. The internet was fast and reliable, which was a priority for meāœ…

I try and do my best to find the best deals without compromising on comfort. Iā€™m not always 100% successful, but I do pretty good. Let me know if you like this location as well as if you want to know how much I paid overall.

The tour guide assigned to our group was extremely knowledgeable about the Transatlantic Slave Trade. He was intentional with not using ā€œSlaveā€ to describe our ancestors, but instead used ā€œCaptives.ā€

I wonā€™t detail the tour for you, but if you are ever in the area, stop by and visit. Cape Coast is the youngest Castle but there are others nearby. This is an experience I wonā€™t forget, very emotional.

Constant dialogue and striving to remain relevant to yourself is very much needed, daily! Enjoy your weekend. We love you Ghana!!!

Iā€™ve done some really cool things since Iā€™ve been here in Ghana and been embraced by the warmest people. This beach that I went to yesterday was simply amazing and I canā€™t describe it, but trust what I say that itā€™s breathtaking.

Our driver did the translation for the locals that live, work and played on the beach. When we arrived all we could see were men, working on their boats and getting them ready to go out to sea. The kids were playing and swimming far distances completely naked, running around being kids. Extremely strong swimmers. One man said and he clearly recognized ā€œthis is a beautiful place.ā€ He was proud and happy to say that and went back to working.

Recognizing the Beauty and being at peace with that.

Noticed the boats that are parked in the water. There are huge, jagged rocks closer to shore that could ruin the bottom of the boat so therefore they leave the boats anchored in the water. There is one entry/exit point. When itā€™s time to go out, every crew member swims out to their respective boats, which is why the kids learn at an early age to be strong swimmers.

I have more to share later šŸ˜‰

My trip begins, starting in Lagos. Caught the train from Ibadan. Weather and the drive from the train station were perfect. Iā€™m feeling happy and carefree. Canā€™t wait to really begin diving into the beauty of this entire experience, please stay tuned.

I will share some insight as well as various costs for this trip. Traveling is a whole new world šŸŒŽ

I needed a different braided style. I was happy to know that I could get my hair braided without leaving the comforts of my place. She came right away so I didnā€™t have time to remove my braids. She went to work immediately along with her apprentices. I began helping with removing the braids and she stopped me after the first to say ā€œrelax, they can handle it.ā€ Now she didnā€™t say those words, but she gently tapped me on my hand as a gesture to stop. I fell asleep a couple of times while she braided because of her gentleness. She finished with the hair removal, washing, and braiding so fast that I couldnā€™t believe it (maybe 4 to 5 hours) and cleaned up afterwards. No conversation (I was ok with that) but I felt her good spirit and I admire her work ethic as a businesswoman, which is why I was compelled to pay her over the ā€œasking price.ā€ It is so true that people do not forget how you make them feel or how you touched their hearts without making a gigantic step. Very subtle, but effectiveā€¦

I told you I would bring this back. I have so many different bathroom stories, but the one that recurs often is the lack of tissue (and in most cases, soap) in public restrooms. This is the case for restaurants as well šŸ˜³. I donā€™t know if there is a shortage (but I will find out and report back later---šŸ˜‰).

One day I had to get really creative when I didnā€™t have any tissue or someone to ask. I used the lining from a facemask that I had in my purse. I was so thankful to God for quick thinking because your girl was in a compromising position šŸ™„

Lets just say lesson ā€œoverstoodā€ā€¦going forward!!!

Itā€™s been awhile since Iā€™ve taken a pottery class (probably middle school), but the atmosphere, instructor and other attendees really set the mood.

We were right by the Atlantic Ocean. I will post more of the view in my stories.

The class cost was N15,000 or $21.45 for two hours. Phillip (the instructor) took the time to work with each of us and it almost felt like a private lesson. Everyone was supportive and watched with enthusiasm.

The neighborhood was very peaceful, beautiful and breezy. A Nigerian billionaire who generated his wealth in real estate by the name of Sir Olu Okeowo Palacia de Okeowo Mansion, lives close by.
I didnā€™t think to take pictures. Hope you enjoy this post!!!

When I moved out in August, I knew I would be going to Nigeria in December, which is why I didnā€™t renew my lease. Iā€™m thankful for the opportunity that I had with house sitting. In between house sitting commitments I stayed at Airbnbs. Housesitting allowed me a place to stay without coming out of pocket. I was able to save for my trip and prepare myself for having ā€œveryā€ little when it came to possessions. My mind had already begun to shift when I moved from a BIG house in Chicago with a lot of stuff into a one-bedroom apartment in Atlanta. I learned that I didnā€™t need the stuff because I am so much happier than I ever was in life. This was such a revelation for me. I am enjoying the ride immensely.

I had 11 housesits in total. I donā€™t have all of my babies here, but they were all so loving and welcoming as well as the various families. These are solid bonds that I can revisit time and time again and this is because of the care and love that I demonstrated along with the love those families showed me in return. In many instances they went over and beyond what they were required to do to show their appreciation. Perfect rating score for me as well as sound testimonies via the app šŸ˜Š

Itā€™s been awhile and life has been beyond busy. Iā€™ve made a couple of changes as I become more and more intuned as to who I am and what I want to do to exemplify the beauty in which I live my life. I find myself doing things that I didnā€™t think I would or could do and it has stretccccched me.

Happy Weekend!!!

Iā€™m still breathingā€¦šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’ØI know Godā€™s timing is perfection. I have been doing a lot of thinking, soul searching, praying, and calling on God to give me strength. I know there are seasons where you go through times where the INTENSE (which can be questionable, ā€œis this really necessaryā€¦) challenges seems like itā€™s never going to end, and boy do I have a nuisance on my back. The infamous to-do-list keeps growing as I work behind the scenes to achieve the goal in what I want to do and the vision within that wants to be released. Staying on this path, remembering my why, allowing myself grace are acknowledgements that take WORK daily and intentionally. Working with what I got until I can obtain other resources while remaining immensely grateful. Iā€™m telling you; I could write a book and it would be a page-turner!!! šŸ“–šŸ“–

Iā€™m only going to release two more videos on my Nigeria travels before returning to my regular scheduled programming (In my mindšŸ¤Æ, I am behind schedule and should have released a total of 10 videos before 6/1). I think most of you know my ultimate reason for going plant base was my trial with fibroids and painful s*x. There are things ailing us in our life medically (or undiagnosed causing us crippling discomfort) and until you make that shift you will always deal with those ā€œthings.ā€ So, until you are ready to make that shift, listen to what I have to šŸ—£say, take it all in, so you can start asking different questions of your medical professionals and understand how they treat you and how much time you really spend discussing nutrition and exercise. As well, how much do they really know about nutrition?

Next topic on the agenda, EPIGENETICS, I want to start from the beginning!

Enjoy your Sunday Familyā€¦šŸ«‚

Interview with Plant Based Nutritionist, Natachi Peace Ugbajah , is now available. Link is below.

Editing this interview presented me with the most challenges šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«šŸ˜”šŸ„ŗ. Iā€™m going to be honest there was some cursing, crying, moments of me walking away and some serious self-doubt. I had big editing plans šŸŽ‰šŸŽ†šŸŽ†. This was my first in-person interview in which two cameras were used, so I have never edited a video like this one before. I must commend anyone that does this as a career because it is not as simple as so many talented people make it out to be. I donā€™t have sophisticated resources or equipment, which I see as tools to make your work somewhat easier, but there most certainly is a creative component that drives the product to COMPLETION.

Let me know the insight you gained from listening to my conversation with Natachi. Natachi provides some solid advice on if youā€™re looking to transition to a whole food plant based way of eating. She is smart, confident, beautiful person inside and out and just all-around exudes good vibes. Iā€™m glad I had an opportunity to sit and talk with Natachi, while I was in Abuja Nigeria. Please follow, share and like on YouTube!

Happy Motherā€™s Day.

Iā€™m not a mother but I am here to talk about two phenomenal women who have been instrumental in my life. First my mother. I believe she has an ā€œideaā€ how much I love her. She has always been my largest supporter but these past two years have meant the most. When she tells me that she loves me, there is no doubt in my soul otherwise. Sometimes I think does any other mother out there love their children more than my mom (I have an older sister and younger brother)? I joke with her and say if she keeps eating the way she does and not exercising, ā€œnursing home boundā€ she goes and I will ask the staff to put her next to a window. Donā€™t judge me, we talk three times a day, still donā€™t judge me šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

My other supporter, who didnā€™t birth me but still just as important is my aunt. There are some people you think about when you wake in the morning and go to bed at night. My mom and aunt are in that category. My aunt has the best advice and most soothing voice. I have never met anyone that is more forgiving and humble as my aunt. She is always quick to say (whether she is at a lost for words or not), ā€œpray about it.ā€ If I want anyone to be happy in life itā€™s my mom and aunt.

Thank you for everything that you have done in my life and everything that you do and know that I GOT YOU. I wonā€™t translate here, but you are in my building plans, if you choose to accept the assignment šŸ“. Enjoy your Sunday Familyā€¦More to come!
