Just wanted to take a moment to thank the man, the myth, and the legend, Akira Toriyama for everything he has done. I became an anime fan already from a young age by watching Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Digimon, Beyblade and several other childhood classics.

But Toriyama's Dragon Ball had the greatest impact of all these shows and set the precedent for many of the types of action anime I would come to enjoy when I officially learned what anime really was with my introduction to Tite Kubo's BLEACH.

Once again, thank you Toriyama-sensei. May your rest in power.

ANNOUNCEMENT ALERT!!!

For all those attending Comic Con Africa this weekend, please be wary of fake anime figure stores. So far as I can tell from the lineup, the only legitimate store there is Anime Culture South Africa who get their figures directly from Japan. Animix may not be in attendance but they are also one of the only legitimate places to purchase anime merchandise in South Africa.

Aside from fake figures looking odd or just having a low quality feel about them, if the booth selling them to you doesn't provide you with a branded box and sells them to you loose, then it's a fake. Only support legitimate stores or buy from comic book store booths who get their figures supplied to them by Diamond. It's the only way to show Japanese companies that there is a growing demand for anime products in South Africa.
