Almost forgot.... One last run at HCKC for this year. Still not quite as competitive as I want to be, but I guess as long as we finish this in one piece with no mechanical failures, I'll call it good.

Got the video up on YouTube from this past weekend at Hill Country Kart Club (HCKC). While it wasn't the best outing, I still really enjoyed getting back behind the wheel of this Compkart ROTAX Karting machine. They're fun to drive and the ClubMAX class we have is a solid group of clean, competitive guys.

Finally made it back out to the track for Kartoberfest. Weather affected some of our fun by pushing the race back a week, then pushing Heat 2 to the followin...

Kartoberfest 2025 is in the books. It was good to be back in the kart again after being out for a few months. The results weren't exactly what I was hoping for, especially when I suddenly forgot how to brake properly into Turn 2 on Lap 1...

Overall, though, I'm content. Pretty much hung around 6th place all weekend, no major repairs or breakdowns, and I mostly kept it on track though not necessarily pointed the right direction. The YouTube video will be up in a bit.

Probably won't be back on track for the final couple of races this year. Hopefully, some things will change next year that will allow me to race much more often.

Race #2 at Hill Country Kart Club (HCKC) is in the books. Promoted one position at the end of it all compared to last race, but that doesn't tell the whole story. The video below does.

Had to draw for starting positions in the Pre-Final, and naturally I drew P-last in my group. The Pre-Final itself started okay, but I got too greedy with a corner entry and dropped a tire into the grass and finished...P-last.

Started in the back again, but slowly worked my way through, eventually to 2nd. The fight for the win was absolutely INSANE and even though I didn't win, I'm okay with the result. Quite a comeback from the Pre-Final and probably the best race I've driven in a long time and especially since starting in this class.

This will probably be my last race for a while cause of some changes to my work schedule. Nice way to end things, but hopefully it's temporary and I can get back out there ASAP.

Race #2 at HCKC this year and in ClubMAX. No qualifying because of a scoring issue, so we drew numbers and, naturally, I drew last in my group ...

Helluva first race Hill Country Kart Club (HCKC) as a ROTAX Karting driver! Got everything put together and ready to go just before qualifying.

Qualified on pole in my class for the first time ever! Started P1 in the Pre-Final and stayed there for my second ever heat race win! Got stung in the palm by a bee just before the Final...I think I was inventing new swear words; THAT HURT!

Anyway, I started P1 for the Final, and led a decent chunk of that race. Unfortunately, I made a few mistakes and lost a couple spots. Still managed a P3 for my (and my son's) first podium in this class.

I have to say, despite being angry at myself for not closing the deal in the Final, I really enjoyed myself today. These karts are so fast and so fun to drive! Again, massive thanks to Kartingdepot.com for getting me squared away throughout the week and especially today.
