James DeDakis has spent the better part of his life playing music in various indie rock groups around the country. Spurred on by curiosity and "the mother of invention" herself, he picked up skills in video editing, creating DIY music videos, tour videos, and promo videos for the groups he has played with. This curiosity in the visual arts led him to learn the basics of photography on a cheap Mino
lta SRT 102 35mm film camera, which led to further exploration in digital photography, and eventually working on a team doing event photography and videography. Having a background in music, he has also landed jobs in audio editing, doing post-production on podcasts, and digitizing and enhancing analog media. He has begun putting together his own team for creative and documentary video production, and taking on freelance video editing work. James has written and performed on songs that have been featured on college radio, NPR, various television shows such as This is Us, The Flash, Being Human, and Gossip Girl, and the award-winning Sundance film Anywhere, USA. Recently he composed and recorded music and performed a live drum score for an original theatrical adaptation of Dracula with Wanderlust Theatre Company.
