The 07:30 morning walks with the hound are a proper 🧠 hack.

It took me 8 weeks to get him off the lead with excellent recall having previously never been off the lead before in 8 years. Who said you can’t teach and old dog new tricks?

Top tip for recall: get a very punchy whistle, use positive reinforcement and be very assertive in a calm and neutral way 👍

The traditional masculine stereotype is dangerous for mental health and men are twice as likely to commit su***de. A little throwback here to some of our previous episodes with extraordinary guests. Demonstrating that vulnerability, although may be difficult, isn't as scary as it seems.

If you listened to our latest episode with , I gave a big shoutout to a listener in Sydney who sent us a beautiful email. With his permission, I’m sharing the email here.

Why? This guy has been through the ringer over the past 6 months. Well and truly. He lost twin babies and his brother to su***de- enough to take any guy down. However, he opened up via email and shared this unbelievable message of hope... despite a series of horrendous things happening which have tried and tested his mental health to the max, IT GOT BETTER, and by talking about it openly, he is on a better path.

Thanks for listening week in week out. This is why we do what we do!

Very excited and pretty stoked to announce that I’m teaming up with Santander to be the host of their new and podcast🎙🧠🚀

How good is it to see a major, major corporate taking mental health and wellbeing seriously and wanting to explore a topic I’m very passionate about in depth through the podcasting medium?!

I’m going to delve into some pretty cool topics, do a few solo episodes along the way and welcome so very, very special guests (TBC!) too.

First episode out March 4th 👌👏.

This week, I’m joined by an extraordinary human being.

is a record-breaking adventurer, ultra-endurance athlete, international motivational speaker, author and mental health activist. All at the age of 25!!!

Alex was bullied at school, suffered with epilepsy, suffered brutal depression and still challenges with eating disorders that affect his day to day life.

However Alex knows a thing or two about overcoming adversity, having experienced the two biggest consecutive disasters in Mount Everest history, including the 2015 Nepal earthquake which trapped him on the mountain for two days. In July 2017 he became the fastest person ever to climb all 100 UK county tops and won the Pride of Britain Granada Reports Fundraiser of the Year 2017.

In 2020 he ran the National Three Peaks Challenge, covering 452 miles in just 9 days 12 hours. Having suffered with mental health challenges since a teenager, he co-founded Mind Over Mountains, a mental health charity to help others restore mental well-being naturally through outdoor experiences.

This is his story, and holy moly, is it a f*cking good one. Enjoy!!!

The latest episode with , George explains how exploring his own mental health, learning to be more mindful and less critical of himself has helped him gain control of his eating disorder.

A powerful episode available to listen on Spotify and Apple Podcast.

Watch talk about his daily routine of eating 1 apple and 1/2 a banana a day and compulsively exercising.

Eating disorders take over your life and George suffered horrendously because of his. They can easily get out of control.

Can you relate to this?

🎙Link in our bio!

Very proud to release this episode with the fabulous . Eating disorders in men are very common yet we don’t really tend to speak about them at all! So, in usual The Rut pod style, we’re going to spend a load of time getting to the core of what they are and what they feel like!

George Mycock is founder of MyoMinds, a mental health platform which exposes the stories and harsh realities of mental health. George also educates people on the brutal realities of eating disorders and body dysmorphia, something which is hugely common in men, yet rarely spoken about.

George broke his neck playing rugby when he was 13 and subsequently gained almost 8 stone because of his injury. He then developed an obsessive exercise disorder and bulimia, and at one stage, was eating only an apple and half a banana a day whilst exercising compulsively for several hours. All at the age of 15. His eating disorder completely took over his life. He continued to struggle with his relationship with food and exercise throughout his late teens and it came to a very ugly head at uni, where everything became too much again…

This is episode is absolutely incredible. We really dig deep into the psychology behind eating disorders in men, body dysmorphia and understand how George regained control of his eating disorder.

So, George Mycock, welcome to The Rut. Please leave all judgment at the door.

Very excited to get the MVP up and running for our beta testing group.

It’s been a weird 2 months with loads of challenges ranging from changing the entire development team a month ago to now working around the clock remotely with loads of people to build V1 of the app.

The MVP we’ve launched is web-app based but still gives flavour to what we’re about.

We’re finally delivering mental health support to the cultural epicentres of London by 10X’ing access based on your background and cultural priorities.

This hasn’t been done before in the therapy market- Only one reason why I’m excited to be involved in this company.

So, if you’d like to check it out, head over to www.Superpow.app and register today 🙌
