💭𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
In this YA coming of age novel we read about Nic, a girl who is bullied for being overweight and not “girly”. Her peers treat her so mean. The first half of the book felt slow to me. In the second half things pick up a bit. Great character development. Felt a little rushed but still it was a good ending. It shows the good and the bad, the pretty and the ugly of when you don’t fit into the “norm”.

💭𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
If you like books with lots of action out at sea plus pirates and magic then you should read this book.

I like the cover but honestly I feel that it doesn’t give the story justice. The cover looks sort of calm and peaceful but there’s a lot more going on and far from calm and peaceful.
This is a must read so don’t sleep on this book!

I liked all the characters good and bad. You’ll find newfound family, enemies to lovers, twists and turns, slow burn. There’re pirate action and magic out in sea!The characters were well thought out. It was a fun book to read and I will definitely be reading the rest of this series.

Colton is on a quest to meet his surrogate mom who might help him navigate being a Black teenager in today’s America. The woman who gave birth to him is Black. His dads are not. His diverse community of family and friends includes lots of LGBTQ+ people, though his first love is a girl of mixed race like him.

Colton’s dads reluctantly introduce him to his birth mother, but she doesn’t turn out to be person he hoped for. On his journey of falling in love, nearly losing one of his dads, and confronting a racist cousin, he learns about love, non-traditional families, community, and what is important in life. The biggest challenge of all is something he discovers about his birth, causing friction with his dads. But like every difficulty in his life, the love of his dads ultimately carries him along and lifts him up.

💭𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
I read it so fast and finished wanting more of Colton. It’s a coming of age story with this teenager trying to figure out how he fits into his “world” with his family and friends. He learns about love and friendship, heartbreak, and loss. Something is revealed to him about himself. This story contains how characters deal with discrimination on blacks, g**s, and Hispanics.

“𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙜”,
everyone’s seen it and many of you’ve read it already!

This is a big book with a little over 500 pages BUT it goes by fast. I did take my time reading it and tagging it. There are a lot of good quotes, phrases, and scenes!

Did it live up to the hype?
Yes and no. lol I thought it was a tiny bit overhyped. 🤏🏽Like calm down people lol BUT still a great great book.

It had me saying “ooo la la” 🥵
It had me in tears 😢
It had me mad 🤬
It had dragons 😲🙌🏽😍

Like really dislike 🤬

I did go into this book blind. Yep that means every time this book was on my feed, I’d skip right over it. I wanted to have my own honest opinion.

If you like space stories, and science and survival stories then this novella is one you’ll want to read. It’s not too short or long and it has a lot of situations that had me on the edge of my seat. Well not literally but it does have some suspenseful moments. It was at times a bit difficult for me to follow only because I’d get lost in the whole science and very brainy information. 🤯 Author did his homework in this one.

Not gonna lie, I Picked this book because of the stunning cover! Then I see it has humorous stories so of course I had to read it. Some stories were funny, some were corny, some were just meh. I did have a favorite one titled “Shelf Help”, which was really fun to read. In this short story the self help books are talking to each other and it’s hilarious! See the second photo to read a bit of the story.

💭Greek Mythology. When I read that it was Greek Mythology I thought it was going to be difficult to keep up with. I was wrong. I was intrigued from the beginning to the end. It’s sad, it’s happy, it’s adventurous. There’s unconditional love and newfound family. Loved the ending. There wasn’t a dull moment.
