UMA Holds 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos

The University of Lagos Muslim Alumni (UMA) will hold its 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, 8th November, 2020.

The event is open to all generations of Muslim graduates of the university from inception till date, and will take place at the Islamic Centre Hall, University of Lagos Central Mosque from 11.00 am to 2.00pm.

According to the president of the association, Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, who also is the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ogun State, the AGM provides an opportunity for all members to get update on the state of affairs of the association, and to contribute to its continued growth and development.

Alhaji Salisu said: “In over three decades of its existence, UMA through it’s programmes has firmly established its relevance by impacting positively on the wellbeing of our members, the Muslim community and the university as a whole. The AGM is therefore an avenue for stock-taking and setting new goals for the future.”

The 31st AGM is also important because it will witness the inauguration of a new set of executives to run the affairs of the association for another two years.

Members are encouraged to be physically present to usher in the new executive, but for those who are unable to do so, they can join the proceedings virtually via Zoom.
