As we commemorate the remarkable milestone of the 32nd anniversary of the creation of our beloved Edo State, we are reminded of the incredible journey that has brought us to this point.

I commend successive administrations, both military and civilian, for their contributions to the development of the state thus far.

I also recognize the fatherly roles of the Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin; the Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom, Alhaji Haliru H. Momoh; and Ojuromi of Uromi, HRH Anselm Aidenojie II. They have, in collaboration with other royal fathers, played a significant role in ensuring the progress of Edo State and the well-being of Edo people.

I urge all Edo residents, both at home and in the Diaspora, to embrace unity over ethnic divisions and continue to live in harmony while contributing, no matter how small it may seem, to the achievement of a greater Edo State for this generation and generations to come.

Prince Clem Ikanade Agba was the guest speaker at the BENSU Law Class '87 reunion on Friday in Lagos, with the theme "Developing Alumni Connections: Challenges and Prospects."

In his remarks, he emphasized that successful educational institutions are built on the foundation of a vibrant educational community, and creating such a thriving community starts with successful alumni organisations with entrenched connections.

He also acknowledged some of the challenges that alumni associations are faced with, including the lack of synergy between the institutional leadership and the Alumni associations. Additionally, he highlighted alternative engagements such as volunteering, mentoring, and speaking opportunities to foster stronger alumni connections with institutions.
