There has been an air of excitement among followers of the Big Brother Naija show after organizers announced a merger of housemates from Nigeria and South Africa.

Africa’s biggest reality show organised by MultiChoice Nigeria on Thursday announced that it is switching up the show and will give fans a new experience in 2023.

The CEO of Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe at the MultiChoice Media Showcase event held in Lagos State promised that the experience will unify cultures, and personalities, and will highlight what Nigeria and South Africa have in common.

Although Ugbe did not disclose the prize, he explained that the prize will be as massive as the entire show, both in cash and other sponsored prizes.

The announcement got fans of the show and some ex-Big Brother housemates thrilled as they took to Twitter to express their excitement.

South Africa’s BBMzansi which was suspended seven years ago was revived and aired its last edition with 18 housemates in 2022. 27 year old, Michelle Mphowabadimo Mvundla emerged winner of the show and walked away with R2 million (48 million naira)

Reacting on Twitter, former BBNaija housemate, Cross Okonkwo said he wishes he could be in the house with the South African housemates.

” brother 9ja X big brother SA in one House. I wish I can be in this house. 2023 go mad.”

While former housemates, Pere Egbi and Dorathy Bachor stated that the show will be a Nuclear explosion.

Some avid fans of the show who spoke to DAILY POST said the big brother show will become the biggest reality show on the continent.

A fan, Yomi Adeleke said, “ I like the fact that the organizers have decided to change things. The merger will promote both cultures and entertain us, viewers. I only hope they pick interesting housemates because ex-South African housemates were really bold.

Another identified as Oton Moses said he looks forward to the show as it will get viewers glued to their screen and promote Nigeria’s Afrobeats and South Africa’s Amapiano.

“I am looking forward to 2023 because this will be the coming together of Amapiano and Afrobeats. I think it’s a good decision from the organizers. The parties will be entertaining.”

“These two countries have a history of xenophobia, I feel this merger will promote tolerance. South Africans and Nigerians might use this opportunity to bond, Entertainment brings people together and I think this is one important aspect that will be achieved while the show airs.” Samuel John said.

Fivio Foreign Says He & Jay-Z Brought Long Verses Back.
The Brooklyn rapper claims he and Hov are the reason bars are lengthy again.
Fivio Foreign has had a phenomenal 2022.

The Brooklyn rapper went from buzzing in the streets of New York to having Kanye West executive produce his debut album B.I.B.L.E. Although Fivio has yet to establish veteran status in the game, his confidence suggests otherwise. On Thursday, he took to say that he and Jay-Z "brought bacc long verses." The "Say My Name" rapper is referring to Hov's 4-minute, one take verse on DJ Khaled's "God Did" from his album of the same name.

Fans flooded the comments with mixed feelings on Fivio's polarizing statement. "Just say 'I liked hov’s verse,'" one fan wrote. Another added, "I was upset at first. But to be honest. Fivio verse on off the grid was the first long verse lol." This isn't the first time the rapper's comments had the internet buzzing. Last month, he suggested that he "single handily" revived Ma$e's career after the two went back and forth on social media over a former contract dispute. The "City of Gods" star said of his $5000 contract with Ma$e, “I thought that s** was going to last until whenever it was going to last. That s*** ain’t last two weeks.”

On Thursday, Fivio made headlines once again after he seemingly threw subs at girlfriend Mello Rackz by posting a video with the mother of his children. The video was posted just hours after Rackz shared to Instagram that she is single. "N***** be acting up round ya b day ur not slick," she wrote. Before posting the shady video, Fivio responded, "Keep that same energy."

Do you think Fivio helped bring back long verses?

There is no relationship that is without conflicts, fights and disagreements.
Love is too fragile _ obviously when you love each other you'll hurt each other unnoticed. Conflicts are there to test your commitment to each other. In a healthy relationship conflicts brings the couple more closer not apart.
In an unhealthy relationship conflicts results into blocking, breaks or Breakup.
It's sad that people want a perfect relationship yet they are not perfect; and not willing to invest in its health. They are always on a lookout of a healthy relationship instead of being committed in building one.
Dear Daughter Every relationships has its ups and downs, don't quit just because you don't see eye to eye. As long as it's not cheating and abuse it's fixable.

In a global landscape where people have rightly pointed out how black women with lighter skin shades have been [un]consciously elevated above women with darker ones, it is important to rebalance the scale. It behoves us as a society to do this in a way that makes it easy for everyone to live out their true selves, enjoy their best lives and not have to cower or suffer identity crises or mental health issues resulting from things that are out of their control, such as colour and texture of the skin they were born in [or, to an extent, the size of said body].

Are we seeing a new wave of colourism?

In light of previous paragraphs, it is easy to get caught up in a new wave and overdo it at the expense of other existing, established realities. Because darker skin shades are getting the global representation they’d been denied for so long, does not make attention to light skin wrong.

In case you haven’t come across it, there is a strain of extreme feminism asking for more women to poison their spouses' meals. There was also this viral story about a feminist claiming to have aborted a pregnancy once she found out it was a boy because she "couldn't bring another monster into the world." There have been rebuttals to that story but nothing is certain aside the fact that she said what she said.

Yes, achieving equality and a safer world for women may require some radical measures, but surely the ex*****on of baby boys at birth, and the murder of men at their dining tables cannot be the way to go about that, right? This is a much bigger subject with arguably greater and more dire consequences compared to the issues surrounding colourism. But you get the point.

There is a tendency for people to cross the line of reason and good judgement where change is concerned. But as a society, we have to come to a place of better understanding that two truths can coexist. Dark-skinned women can be elevated without casting light skin women down.

Also, every compliment, spotlight or conversation about beautiful light skin women is not an aspersion to the existence of dark-skinned women. It’s not that deep and everything is not done out of malicious agenda.

Las las, everyone just needs to calm down

You can argue that this is a reductive way to view the issue but really, is it? Look around you, there are deeply-melanated queens getting their dues everywhere you look: Genevieve, Ini Edo, Saskay, Bisola, Kate Henshaw, Inidinma Okojie… the list goes on and on – and that is exactly how it should be, particularly in Nigeria where dark-skinned people outnumber the light-skinned ones considerably. Any order which tries to paint dark skin as inferior must be reversed. That’s pretty much what we started seeing globally about 4/5 years ago.

But seeking to do this by the erasure of the light skin folks, or shouting down any mention of them in public discourse cannot be right. If there are no issues pointing out how gorgeous dark skin is, there should be none pointing out the beauty of light skin. After all, all skin types are beautiful and all body types are gorgeous, innit?

So, why do celebrities and ordinary people do it anyway?

For Fun

First off, it is fun. Our phones are a diary for every moment in our lives, some people send n**e pictures and other s*xual videos to each other it just seems like the next step for some.

Self-eroticism

There are psychological reasons why people love to record themselves having s*x. One is self-eroticism, narcissism, and voyeurism.

Self-eroticism is when you get turned on by watching yourself have s*x. Many people typically use their partners as props and objects when the main focus is on themselves.

Watching themselves over again in that same position can cause them to feel aroused. This self-eroticism is linked with narcissism, which is an excess love for oneself and wanting to see yourself idealised in a s*xual position.

Fame

There is also a faint chance that it is done for notoreity, popularity and clout from the aftermath of the s*x tape.

Notwithstanding all of these, the risk of having your s*x tape out remains. Some have said one need not feel shameful. S*x is a normal activity and people shouldn't be ashamed of it.

Jackson would not like to have a s*x tape; “A very young lady in the university asked us to create a s*x tape, but I declined because I do not want to have my s*x tape out in the public, if she wants to watch us have s*x, we can use a mirror. I certainly do not want my grunting face out there.”

Dayo says; "some people are voyeurs, they derive pleasure from watching other people have s*x." He also believes that it is usually the man who cajoles the lady.

Things to note before making a s*x tape

Whatever the reason is, you must protect yourself.

Trust is important when making them. You should trust the person you are making the s*x tape with. This follows that it shouldn't be a random person or someone you are casually seeing.

Also, having your senses intact is important, when either of you is not in their right senses either by drugs or alcohol consent cannot be gotten. Thus, you shouldn't record a s*x tape.

Lastly, store it properly, remove it from your phone to a safer device or just delete it when you are done watching it.

In the event of a breakup or split, both parties must agree to delete all copies of the tape and not share it with anyone.

At the end of the day, making a s*x tape seems to be more trouble than it is worth, but people will still do it regardless.
