Episode 2 is available now. Join me as I talk about 2008's Hurricane Ike and interview my friend Brittany who rode out the hurricane in Houston. Ike was the second costliest hurricane in US history at the time, and kept that status until 2012's Superstorm Sandy.

Today I discuss 2008's Hurricane Ike with my friend Brittany who experienced the storm in Houston. I give some background on the storm itself and talk briefly about a couple of other storms that influenced the Texas Gulf Coast and how that affected residents during Ike's rampage across the Caribbean...

Hey, guys, if you have a story to tell I now have access to a voice note feature. Grab a mic and hit the link to send me your stories in your own voice! My only request at this time is to try to keep it to 5 minutes or less so they load quickly and please be patient as I figure out how to add them into my episodes!

Working on the next episode... got some notes from our executive producer, Chalupa Batgirl:

Looks like the Saffir-Simpson is out. I think the cone of uncertainty is still in, though. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Video from Czech Republic from two days ago... a very rare, very strong tornado hit several towns and villages. They're still digging out, with several dead and many injuries.

This video is easily one of the craziest I've ever seen, and shows the power of the storm. Pay attention near the 0:38 to 0:40 mark, and watch the suction vortice as it starts taking apart the building next door.

As always, I'm still going to advocate for taking shelter, but I understand why this person didn't, as tornadoes in this area are both rare and rarely strong enough to do this kind of damage.

**edited to add** I'm working on figuring out a couple of audio things, including how to control the volume of clips through my audio editor, bear with me as I figure out some of the bells and whistles on Anchor.

I started a Google Form for anyone interested in submitting weather stories. Please use it so I can hear more about the events that have affected you guys. I don't care if you send 1 or 100, I'm just excited.

Also, let me know if there are any bugs or any questions I forgot. Coffee hasn't quite kicked in yet. My next two episodes are the Andover tornado in 1991 (including the tornado that hit Ark City/Winfield the same day) and Hurricane Ike from 2008.
