Saree ki kahani
Bought this plain Tussar from Surajkundmela about 10yrs back
Wore it a few times 😀
Got it handpainted by a young tribal women artist from Orissa and then finished it with a Banarasi border which is approximately 80yrs old. My great grand Nani had given it to my mom out of her leftover saree piece.
The blouse sleeves had got spoilt so I removed them and the lotus I got embroidered to match the saree

Growing up, I was fascinated when my mom would wear sarees from different states of India. She looked so elegant in them. When I grew up, she gifted me those sarees and I intend to pass these on to my daughters. They are family heirlooms and each one holds priceless memories and a story behind it. My love for anything handmade and handwoven and handcrafted is a result of this upbringing.
Chanderi sarees are one of my favourite forms of sarees. They are fine, lightweight, delicate, and luxurious looking sarees from the village Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh.
The material is sheer and translucent, with a gorgeous sheen. Whatever the raw material used, the weaving process ensures that the fabric has very fine and shimmery look.
The thread used may be gold, silver or copper.
I am so excited to launch my favourite Chanderi sarees on . We have used the best quality of threads and Zari, so that the sarees don’t loose their lusture over time. The work is being carried out under my supervision, so that I bring you the best of the best.

How do you feel being the only man in the house? It's a huge responsibility. I want my girls (including Rooplai) to be strong, independent, and free to make their own choices in life. I try to act as a guide, mentor and coach for them rather than being bossy, prescriptive, or judgemental. It's a lot of fun as well since the girls are forever chatty and want to do crazy stuff at the drop of a hat. Sometimes it's exhausting but for most part, it's amazing and awesome. Men doing household work is seen as a matter of privilege, do you feel the same? Men have equal responsibility of running a house as much as it is the responsibility of women. It is a matter of privilege to share the chores with my family. There are certain things that I do better like opening a tight cap on a bottle of jam and lifting heavy beds. But I am completely at sea when it comes to fixing electrical or plumbing stuff in the house, but not too bad when it comes to cooking. I help in preparing breakfast, doing the beds and putting away laundry. Roopali and I jointly take any decisions relating to big purchases and investments Have you ever had to hear any comments or taunts from people because you are equally taking up household responsibilities as a man? Men jokingly threaten to boycott me from attending any common events with their wives since I seem to be the odd one out when it comes to doing house chores.
