Sweet shot of me, for once, during the Local Freedom project in Val d'Allos with pro freerider Maël Ollivier where we spent 3 days out of the grid in a non guarded refuge, riding fresh pow and eating fondue 🦫

When we told you we had to get up early to shoot the sunrise it was not a joke. In ordre to be ready at the summit for the first rays of sunlight we departed from the refuge at night and climbed under the watch of miss 🌙
Always hard but always rewardful 🙌🏻

After the first 2 days of installation in the cabin and spotting the surrounding moutains we finally had everything figured out to fully enjoy this third day !
With all the fresh and untouched faces all around us it was just a matter of time before the riders got their virage carte postale for their instagram accounts 😎💥

Time to warm up 🔥🙌🏻

Always incredible to see how a small fireplace can warm up the entire cabin in one day even with outside temperatures dropping below -20° at night.
This time when we arrived at the cabin it was midday but colder inside than outside 😅
But after one evening with the fire lit up (and the body heat of 5 humans that ate way too much fondue), the temperature inside reached a nice level for the restbof the trip.
Meaning the water wasn't freezing 👌🏻

Les cuisses de Jupiter 🦵🏼🍗

Avant de pouvoir profiter de l'immensité de ces faces vierges, les cuisses de nos trois riders ont du manger des 1000m de D+ journée après journée.
Mais attendez de voir le résultat de ces efforts dans l'épisode 3 de Local Freedom qui sort Jeudi sur YouTube ... vous vous demanderez pourquoi vous aussi vous n'avez pas des jambons à la place des cuisses pour aller skier à leur place 😎🔥

Dans un refuge à 2200m d'altitude et à des centaines se kilomètres du premier voisin le risque de contamination est assez faible MAIS nous avons quand même scrupuleusement respecté les consignes du gouvernement et dès 18h nous étions tous en train de couvrir le feu sacré 🙌🏻
•
Les -20° de la nuit au dehors nous y ont très probablement encouragé.

Why ride solo when you can do it with friends ? 🐬
•
First day of our project Local Freedom !
After a good day of ripping the mountains, mostly skitouring uphill alright, we were happy with the shots and decided we should call it a day.
On the way back to the cabin I saw the riders skiing next to each other and playing with the terrain like a pod of dolphins.

Because after all, even for professional skiers, even in this strange period and even at -15°, it's all about fun 🤙🏻
