Hello Friends and Supporters of the Friends of Burlington County Animal Shelter and all animal lovers,
We've entered the 2023 Annual Nonprofit Photo Contest, and your vote can help us win cash prizes and publicity and we can really use the money to support our cats & dogs that are currently in need at the shelter.

Voting starts this Tuesday and the more votes we get from the public the better chance we have. The judges will vote on their favorites once the public chooses their favorites. FOOD BANK COLLECTION July 15-16
Held the 3rd weekend of every month to support the Maple Shade Food Bank. Please place all non-perishable food donations by the Baptismal font. General Items needed: Cereal, Cookies, Canned Soup (Chicken Noodle & Tomato) Knorr’s Side Dishes, Pasta Roni, Rice a Roni, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Juice. Toilet Paper (please no other paper products). Please make sure that all items are not expired. The food bank cannot give out expired items. Thank you for your sacrifice to help feed our town.

If you are in need of food, the food bank is open on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 9am to 2pm. The food bank is located at the Municipal Build, 200 Stiles Ave, Maple Shade (Park Ave side).

If you’d like to help with the transportation of the food donations to the Maple Shade Food Bank at the Municipal Building please reach out to [email protected] or call the rectory at 856-667-8850. Several able bodies would be very much appreciated to help with this special initiative. The Maple Shade Food Bank feeds hundreds of families in need in our very own community. The transport takes place the Wednesday after the collection and is at 5:15pm, only taking 30-40 minutes.

July 4th is significant because it is the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress, a governing body comprising delegates from the 13 American colonies. The document officially declared the United States of America's independence from British rule.

I am the staff photographer at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and have worked for the Atlantic City Press and the Beach Haven Times on LBI.
