We Solve Murders by Richard Osman ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a well written mystery that crosses the globe. There’s famous author Rosie D’Antonio, kick a$$ female bodyguard Amy Wheeler and her retired detective father-in-law Steve Wheeler. Oh, and Trouble - his black cat. For some reason influencers keep showing up dead all over the place and Amy is implicated. Figuring out the how and why requires Steve coming out of retirement which would normally be fine but who is going to trivia night if he’s in Dubai?

This book was wonderful and a ton of fun and the only reason it’s not ranked higher, unfairly, is it’s not the Thursday Murder Club and those are some of my favorite characters of all time. But I can see Amy, Steve and Rosie especially growing on me if this series continues.

Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Throne of Glass meets Cruel Prince.
The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Is it possible I have a new favorite character?? Can Alan be any more adorable?? 🐕
Promises & Pomegranates by Sav R Miller ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For the girlies who watched 365 Days and thought, ‘this would be better darker and dirtier.’
Glow of the Everflame by Penn Cole ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Definition of a “slow burn” but I’m still *very* invested.

The Thursday Murder Club have decided to work on a very old case, the case of reporter Bethany Waites. Last seen in her car driving off a cliff, but whose body was never found. Was there someone else there? Why did someone want to kill her? What does famous journalist Mike Waghorn have to do with any of it? Can Ibrahim convince Connie Johnson to help? What is going on with Bodgen and Donna?

I LOVE THIS SERIES.

Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

“You just can’t kill people and be pretty. It’s confusing.”

Oh I am here for all of this. And I know this is book #2 and book #3 will be epic so we can’t move the plot TOO far along but god I loved hearing from some other folks too. Obviously the Villian and Evie Sage are why I’m reading but let’s also talk about the friendship budding between Evie and Rebecka. And maybe another love story between Rebekah and Blade? Claire and Tatianna? I am here for ALL the side characters but especially Fluffy.

If you read the first you need to know how Evie goes from being an Assistant to an Apprentice and DEAR LORD THAT ENDING.

The Inmate by Freida McFadden ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You move home, get a job at the local prison only to run into your ex who you put there? God isn’t Freida just the absolute best? The Colleen Hoover of thrillers.

Pace is fantastic. Brooke Sullivan moves back home with her son after her parents died and left her the house. Fresh start and all. The only job she could find as a nurse was at the prison where her ex Shane Nelson is currently serving life for a couple of murders including HER attempted murder.

Enter her old neighbor Tim Reese who has stayed in the town this entire time and always held a torch for her. He starts coming around and Brooke starts wondering if maybe she got something wrong that night?

We keep flashing back to the party and there are so many unanswered questions. How did everyone keep turning up dead? How did she get out of there? Who is to blame for those other unsolved murders in town? Why does it say “manipulative” on Shane’s chart?

Finished in two days.

How Does It Feel? by Jeneane O’Riley ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

3.5 - 4 There’s some truly bizarre things happening in this *very* dark romance and I honestly could not put it down. BUT read the trigger warnings.

Callie is an environmental biologist who is out there looking a rare mushroom and falls into a fae portal, where is she is immediately an enemy for being human. She is taken hostage by the Unseelie who are sure she’s an assassin sent to kill their prince.

“If you die tonight and I never get to tell you, you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”

Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s giving she’s a witch undercover as a party girl in a land where witches are completely outlawed because those horrible witch sister queens ruined it for everyone. He’s a witch hunter who has GOT to find this mysterious “Crimson Moth” who keeps rescuing all the witches he’s captured. Hmm, maybe they can use each other for information??

Thought about this book all the time and couldn’t wait to pick it up at night. Can’t WAIT for the next one!!

The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 “All books are magic. An object that can take you to another world without even leaving your room? A story written by a stranger yet it seems they wrote it just for you? Loving and hating people made out of ink and paper, not flesh and blood? Yes, books are magic.” Favorite book of the month.

Not In Love by Ali Hazelwood ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A little different than Ali’s other romances. Rue and Eli start with all the bad stories first. This is also way spicer than her other books but I liked how she flipped the script with these two.

The Man Who Die Twice by Richard Osman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Enjoyed this even more then the first (do the narrated version if you can). Joyce and Bogdan are a tie for my favorite characters.

The Au Pair Affair by Tessa Bailey ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Read Fangirl Down first then GET HERE. Almost as hot as I’ve ever read Tessa. High tension between stocky hockey guy Sir Savage and clever but cautious Tallulah. Insert moody 13 yo. It all works.

Tangled Up In You by Christina Lauren ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The way I tore through this book on the plane. Retelling of Tangled (Rapunzel). Ren lives on a homestead in Idaho and finally convinces her overprotective parents to let her go to college where she meets rich, entitled Fitz who is only at school to prove a point. One thing leads to another and these two wind up on a road trip.

House of Ash and Shadow by Leia Stone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantasy romance but Fallon Bane can’t touch anyone or else she will be in incredible pain. Then her Dad gets sick and she’s forced to get him help. Enter Aryion Madden, a healer. Dark magic. Curses galore. Couldn’t put it down.

House of War and Bone by Leia Stone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fallon has really gotten herself into a pinch in this one. Probably not the best call to trap the only person who can touch her in the Realm of Eternity.

Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Refreshing rom-com about a single Mom in her 30s going through a tough divorce and what it looks like to find yourself again.
