I think we all agree that, despite the fact that there were many great Otellos, the Best was Mario Del Monaco, for the simple reason that he was also the only one who performed 400 performances of an opera that was destructive to many, and that he it did not affect him in the least, demonstrating the firmness of his technique and his inhuman vocal abilities.

On May 17, 1975, Mario del Monaco said goodbye to the Opera just like Gigli, with Pagliacci, he did two performances at the Morlacci theater in Perugia. This photo is from that day.
