The conversation with @gracebanu made us realise how selfish and vile we are as a race. This is Grace. She is just as warm, intelligent, beautiful and human as the rest of us. And so are all transgender persons. So why do none of us stand up for them? Why we do we not speak up against the baseless discrimination they face? Why are we so pathetic as a human race? Why is someone’s misery the source of anyone’s fun? How the f**k is it that we’re in the 21st century and we still DON’T UNDERSTAND THAT GENDER ISN’T BINARY? AND WHY IS SOMEONE’S GENDER PRIORITISED OVER YOUR SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES? I want to believe that we care more about a human than just their vagina or the lack thereof. I watched this talk by @alokvmenon where they pointed out how most cisgender persons are scared of/ pissed with the gender spectrum because to a certain extent, people falling beyond the damned binary are able to live their lives true to themselves and some cannot. Maybe it is true - maybe we’re just so messed up , selfish and scared as a race - that we need to box everyone into a binary that isn’t even biologically possible - that we are so arrogant we even defy science. That we feel the need to make others’ lives miserable. THIS HAS TO CHANGE. Meet @gracebanu . She’s poured out her heart in this upcoming episode.
