The weather's not on our side today, so let’s save Baguio City Foundation Day Marathon for next time. Instead, how about we join RD Stephen Lopez Felices Bahaghari for a group run, and afterward, reward ourselves with a well-deserved food trip?

Being an event organizer is no easy task. You’re always faced with challenges, and things don’t always go as planned. It takes a special kind of talent to make quick decisions while being thoughtful. And let’s be real—it’s impossible to make everyone happy.

From the planning, preparation, and procurement to securing permits and handling logistics—this is where the true heart of Team Malaya lies. Youngsters cyclist take their shot to be a part of the Batang Pinoy Baguio Cycling Team. This tryout is for Ages 15 years old and below. Starting from Athletic Bowl then 2 laps of Loakan - Kadaclan - South Drive then back to Atletic Bowl. This tryout is facilitated by Coach Mhao Orsal and by Baguio Partyland Coordination Baguio Partyland

Tinakbo ko ang Leg 3 32km dito sa Manila, finishing the HOKA Trilogy Run Asia. Pero… meron pang pang-apat na full marathon sa December para makumpleto yung medal na connecting. Eto rin ang aking first out of town Run, most specifically, first run na patag lang. Ang pinaka ahon na dito yung dalawang flyover sa Roxas Blvd. Kasama ko si Uncle Velo syempre at nagkita-kita kami ni Ger Victor sa starting line - nagsabay din kami tumakbo, si Uncle Velo nauna kaagad, samantalang kami ni Ger, magkasama hanggang 7-8km, nagkakakwentuhan pa kami ng nagkaiwanan dahil nagkasikipan sa paahon sa flyover. Almost 3000 daw kalahok.

Sobrang haba ng takbo sa Roxas Blvd, dinaan ko sa tyaga, kahit takbong easy lang. Importante lang sa akin hindi ma injury or pulikat. Nakita ko nga pala si Anne-tinik Click sa bandang kainan ng Diwata Pares, sana maganda pitik nya sa akin. Takbo-lakad ako pero umuusad, ngawit lang talaga ang kalaban. Pagka dating ng 27km sumusikat na ang araw, gandang-ganda ako sa sunrise, ngiti-ngiti na lang, mahigit tatlong oras na ako tumatakbo. Andaming naglalakad na lang, tuloy lang ako tumatakbo at nakikipag patintero sa kanila.

Yung huling stretch sa seaside at pagdating sa dulo, kala ko u-turn na pa finish line, kakaliwa pa pala, 2km pa and rorota pa sa tapat ng MOA, medyo na demoralize ako… sumasakit yung toes ko. Pero, noong nakita ko na yung 31km mark, eto na, tuloy tuloy lang takbo - thank you na ako sa Taas kasi di ako laspag. Sa huling 1km stretch, naramdaman ko saya ng mga kasabayan ko - matatapos na rin sa wakas tong kahibangan na to na tinatawag namin takbo.

Natapos ko din ang 32km run na to, sabi ni Uncle Velo mga Ultra Half Marathoners na kami. Tinapos namin tong takbo na to with good hormones, nag enjoy kahit nagpagod. Pagkatapos namin makuha ang medal at goodies, naghanap kami makakainan. Doon surprise pang nagkita kami ng ka batch na cyclist runner din.

Ayun, kwento ko lang. Masaya e.

Nakakabilib lahat ng lumahok ng Sang-atan, Blistt Bike Festival Challenge. 113km in and out to points sa Baguio, La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba and Tublay. Bukod sa ahon na malupit, kalaban ang init at traffic. Congrats sa lahat ng lumahok - sa mga cyclist at mga Support ng mga teams.
