Omg I know this article is a few months old but....I would absolutely buy the remake to this game if they ever did it!!! I am currently playing through the original on Twitch. So swing by on Mondays or catch my recent lives and get your nostalgic fix!
It may take years and a lot of work, but Final Fantasy 8 deserves the Final Fantasy 7 Remake treatment from Square Enix sometime soon.

Streaming a little earlier than expected due to the eclipse today. Which is kinda perfect due to the game. Chapter 14: Homecoming (World of Ruin & The Cure for Insomnia). In the final story, Chapter 14: Homecoming, an older and wiser Noctis prepares for one final assault against the Usurper back in his home inside Insomnia. The fate of the world rests on the True King.
