I never joke about anything related to work. It's not wise, neither can I afford to so such a thing. Why? For one, I take too much pride in what I do. I'm also so focused on achieving excellence that I don't consider anything I'm doing from a work perspective to be a laughing matter. Therefore, if you joke with me about my work, you'll have to pardon my stoic response. ;-)

As presented in "5 More Things UXers Need to Stop Doing Immediately..."

"NOBODY can go from nothing to being a principal, UX lead, or senior. The advancement timelines for a UX professional requires at least 7 years of ENTERPRISE-LEVEL PRACTICE to qualify as a senior and another 3 years to be a principal."

Ever seen a hairdresser with terrible looking hair? A nail tech with terrible looking nails? How about an auto mechanic with a vehicle that's obviously in need of repair?

Ironically, one thing that's overlooked in the world of UX is the fact that a UX pro should always strive to provide a good UX in...whatever.

- Good documentation
- Good communication
- Good sound and video (in conference calls)

Always deliver good UX!!!

Understanding UX is like understanding the movie "Tenet." You can't digest it by watching passively or casually and you can't engage at the surface level. Unless you observe it multiple times and pay strict attention, you will fall short of truly grasping its intricacies, recognizing its proposition, and appreciating its genius.

Pseudo UXers overemphasize how an interface looks. This is a gross error. Remember, a good looking design means absolutely nothing.... if the experience is not intuitive and easy-to-use.

Make sure you're not distracted, hypnotized, or overly-concerned about aesthetics, so that you forget about what really matters.
