We went to Commonwealth Q.C and had a lunch at Shakey's Pearl Drive, then we decided to go to Lamesa Dam Eco Park coz its already close from there, just a 10 minute walk. It's almost 4 pm when we got there and unfortunately it's already closed. They only allow up to 12 pm during weekdays and 4 pm on weekends. This eco park is not yet fully operational for now, no swimming yet, but you can go inside for sight seeing. As you can see at the entrance its kinda look like a jungle, so if you're a nature lover like me, you might be curious as well to see what's inside 😊

Alfresco Beach Resort in Matabungkay, Batangas. We visited this resort few years back, since I just started writing a blog so its only now that I have the chance to share my travel experience and ideas on places to go to. You can visit their website for an update regarding accommodations and other fees. I would say that still the best beaches in Batangas is located in Laiya, San Juan, but there are still reasons to go to Matabungkay, I like the floating raft. It was so nice to look back the times we had spent in this resort. Just spending the day sitting and lounging in the raft, while it was carried away to and fro by the waves, it was fun. We only had a daytrip back then with free use of resort facilities like the rubber boat, surfing board and picnic cottage including floating raft. We only paid 500php each for the entrance for a day trip. We brought our own food free from corkage fee.

Moonlight is a budget friendly resort with a stunning white sand beach and clear waters. The beachfront cottages are only few steps away from the seashore. The rooms are air conditioned but not cool enough, that's the only downside of the resort otherwise the rooms and toilet is clean. And I hope by now, they already improve and upgrade their resort facilities so as to keep their guests in coming back to their resort.

Picnic Grove is one of the most visited tourist spot here in Tagaytay. The hours of travel from Manila is roughly 2 hrs, no wonder lots of people flocking into this cool place to unwind, de- stress and relax after days of hard work. Lots of families going here for picnics, sight seeing and just roaming around enjoying the lush surroundings and its cool breeze. The view of Taal Volcano and Taal Lake is a beautiful backdrop to enjoy from afar. There are lots of activities to do here in Picnic Grove like horse back riding for 350/hr. They have zipline and cable cars that ranges from 200 up to 400 php depending on the season and the day. Just last month we spent a whole day picnic here with my kids and friends. It was my first time to visit Picnic Grove and I find it a beautiful place to relax and unwind.

Adventure in Baun, Batangas.
Batangas beaches is the most sought summer get away destination because it is not so distant from Manila. Aside from the fact that it has numerous stunning white sand beaches with crystal clear waters. We had been to a lot of beaches in Batangas from budget friendly to high end resorts. I remember the first time we went there, we didn't plan which resort to go,it was like a spur of the moment decisions. We just had a joy ride and while on our way to Batangas, we looked for a resort where we could spend a day trip. Roughly two hrs we reached the town of Baun, along the highway we saw a signage "this way to coconut hill resort" so we followed the direction to turned right. At first the road was good, but as we went along, it became steep and narrow just enough for one vehicle to pass, its almost 1 hour of driving on a hilly terrain but we haven't see a signage again that we are approaching to that resort,we realized we are deceived by a misleading signage, we thought the resort is just close from the highway, but it's late to go back because we spent a lot of time already so we decided to push through. After almost 2 hrs, we reached the secluded up in the mountain resort at around 4 pm.The end of the road is the jump off point of the resort. There was no guest except us,it's like we rented the whole resort. The beach was quiet, surrounded by coconut trees, plants and flowers somehow it's a relief seeing this kind of atmosphere. We enjoyed swimming, despite of occasional big waves that hits us. We walked along the shore and picked some sea shells and colorful stones. The stretch of the beach is rocky, it's like pebbled beach, but the seashore is sandy and ivory white. It's almost dark when we stop swimming. We had our dinner and then drank a little wine while chitchatting. Actually there was no cottages for overnight guests there but the owner of the resort offered us their extra room for rent, but we decided to sleep in the open cottage with wide tables and benches inside. The night was so cold, that we could feel the cool breeze of air seeping into our body. It was such a funny experience but we enjoyed it to the fullest.
It was nice and enjoyable trip indeed! If you're looking for an adventure, going here is an adventure itself as you will pass remote areas and hilly terrain of the road, but still it was fun.

STILTS BEACH RESORT: Little Maldives of Calatagan, Batangas.
We had been in many beach resorts around Batangas back then and one of my memorable and exhilarating experience was our stay at Stilts beach resort in Calatagan. What I like most is the nice ambiance of this place.. It's calm and quiet. The place is surrounded by beautiful plants and trees and garden filled with beautiful flowers. The beach is stunning with creamy white sand and clear waters. Another thing that caught my attention is the nice view and lush surroundings, there are lots of inspiring quotes and sayings carved on wood everywhere, and it's so nice to read them all. There is no wifi in the cottages and no tv's so you will have enough time bonding with the family, but if you wish to connect to their server, you can always go to their pavilion and restaurants. The place was really spectacular perfect for relaxation.
Upon our arrival here, we took pictures while going down and headed to our floating cottage. We were a group of 10 adults and 3 kids and we paid around 18,000 for 2 days 1 night stay, inclusive of breakfast served into our cottage. The resort have 8 floating cottages, and each one have a master's bedroom, living room, dining, and veranda. The rates for overnight stay is a bit pricey, but if you opt for their day trip the entrance is 385.00 php/pax not inclusive of corkage fees. You can stay in picnic tables, open huts, cabanas and pavilion that suits your needs and size of your crowd. There are also lots of water activities like kayaking, snorkeling, diving, biking and a lot more. This paradise is worth a visit. It is picturesque and attractive.

We had a very enjoyable stay here and longing to come back here again and again.

TRIP TO MAJAYJAY FALLS : BACKPACKING " SAAN MAKAKARATING ANG 759 php NINYO" 😊?

I was planning a month ago prior to our trip to Majayjay Laguna, where one of the majestic falls is located. I invited my best friend but she was not available on the date that I set for our supposed trip. So, I invited my daughter with her two best friends instead. We went there last March 18 . We left home at 4:30 am and rode a taxi going to Buendia where the Jac Liner Bus terminal is located. Good thing we caught the bus just right on time because if not, then I'm sure we are going to wait for 30 mins or more for the next bus to depart because they have to fill it in with passengers. So we hopped in immediately and the bus departed after 5 mins. After two hrs of travel we reached Sta Cruz terminal at around 7:30. We were waiting for jeepney bound to Majayjay when a tricycle driver approached me and said he'll take us directly to Taytay Falls drop off point and asked for 700 php. I haggled to lower the price and it was down to 600 php, but still I was hesitant, as I have already searched on google about the fare in going there, so I refused, we just waited for a jeepney at the highway and after 10 mins, we're onboard. The fare is only 140 for four 35/pax, we rode going to Majayjay town proper. We alighted at the terminal then rode another tricycle going to Taytay falls for 240 php, we were 4 so it's 60/pax. The trip going there was a bit scary because of the zigzag road and a lot of curves. Along our way the green meadows welcomed us and the cool breeze of fresh air rushing onto our face gives soothing effect that made me calm . Finally, we reached Taytay falls Brgy Hall where we registered and paid 20.00 pesos DENR fee as a sort of entrance charge.

At last I set foot in this enchanted place, I can't help but mesmerized the view that surrounds me. The splash of the waterfalls, lush vegetation and pristine waters, so clear that I can see the rocks underneath. I was so ecstatic. It's truly a haven.
After 3 hrs of staying, we decided to pack up and get ready for our trip back to Manila. We brought our garbage going up, because the policy here is garbage in garbage out so as to maintain the cleanliness of the place. And for us to help in preserving our mother nature, as a tourist we should take responsibility in cleaning up the area before leaving. We left as early as 11:30 so as to avoid lots of tourist who will also waiting for a ride going back to Majayjay town proper. Before we left we had lunch in one of the food stall at the drop off point. It was really awesome and fun travel. A perfect natures get away. I would definitely come back here again.

Chasing Summer: Escape at Laiya San Juan, Batangas Moonplace Resort
The summer almost ends when we set our trip to Laiya Batangas last May 28, 2018 but still the resort was very crowded. We arrived at the resort earlier than our check in time that was supposed to be at 3 pm but we got there at 11 am and good thing the people who occupied the cottage had checked out earlier, so we didn't wait for too long. Then we checked in right after the place was vacated. We prepared our precooked lunch that we brought and then ate altogether. After we had our meal, others were excited and immediately plunged into the water and enjoyed swimming while others lounging into the cool room of our cottage. I just walked around the resort and took pictures together with my sister and kids. By the way this our second time in this resort, although not the perfect one, but it has fine white creamy sand and clear water, still you can enjoy swimming especially early in the morning like what we did, because the water was so calm and clear.

Club Manila East: A Quick Summer Get Away
CME has been one of our favorite resort for a quick summer get away, considering the travel time is short, so its not tiresome, its only less than an hour drive. We had been visiting this resort since 2008, and every year we came here for our family outing and enjoy some fun activities such as kayaking, surfing, zipline and beach volleyball. They have cabanas, picnic huts, villas and dormitories for day tour and overnight stay. First time we came here they don't allow bringing food inside, but just recently they allow it except bringing any kinds of drinks. The entrance fee for day tour is 375php and it is free for children below 3 feet. The resort have multiple pools to enjoy like kiddie pool, lap pool, shaded pool, diving cliff, beach waves for surfing, and pool for kayaking. They also have giant slide that would pump up your adrenaline.
CME is a cool place to cool off from this very hot weather this summer. A water park where both kids and adult will enjoy and have fun.

Exploring Camiguin White Island and Ardent Hot Spring: Camiguin is situated in region 10 the Nothern part of Mindanao. It is known as volcanic island " Born of fire" because of the presence of 7 volcanoes found in the area. Due to volcanic eruptions and land movements it has created a spectacular natural wonders and historal places like the Old Ruins of San Roque Church, Convent and Belfry of Bonbon, Catarman, the sunken cemetery, old volcano slope known as Via Cruzes, old centennial houses and a lot more.

This island is also rich in natural resources like hot and cold natural springs, majestic waterfalls, patches of grey- black and white beaches, blue ridge mountains and exotic marine life. It is also one of the best diving spot in the world. In fact it has been identified as no.7 worlds best diving spots and top 25 tourist destinations in the Philippines by the Department of Tourism.

How to Get There: From Manila take a plane to Cagayan de Oro Airport. From there take a taxi or van to Agora market. Then take a bus bound to Butuan and tell the conductor to drop you at Balingoan Port, this will take almost 2 hrs drive. From Balingoan Port, take a ferry going to Benoni Port, travel time is 1 hr more or less. Once in Benoni Port take van or multicab to your desired destination. The fare for multicab is only 30.00. In our part we take a plane straight to Butuan City my hometown, and we stayed there for one week before we went to Camiguin. From Butuan we had our private van in going to Balingoan Port and it takes 3 hrs drive before we reached the Port. We then rode a ferry going to Benoni Port it took almost 1 hour before we reached the port of Benoni.
Then headed to Mambajao . We looked for a private resort and rented a house for 2 nights and 3 days stay.
A birthday celebration of my niece here in Camiguin. We ordered lechon from one of the locals here, and mind you the whole lechon (more or less 35 kls) cost only 5k a lot cheaper compared to the price of lechon in Manila. And its very tasty, and crunchy. The stunning white island is only 10 minutes ride by boat from our resort. We went there at around 4pm but still the heat of the sun was so intense. This island is uninhabited, no structures and no trees its bare island with only a stretch of white powdery sand, crystal clear water and a backdrop of Mount Hibok hibok and Mount Vulcan. Don't forget to bring hats and sunglasses for safety and of course sunblock. We only stayed there for two hours The sun almost edged down the horizon when our boatman returned to fetch us. While sailing back to our resort I couldn't help but stared back and admire this wonderful island, how I wish I could stay longer here. I will probably be back here in the future.
Day 2 of our stay in Camiguin we headed to one of the marvelous hot spring in town, the Ardent resort. It is situated in Esperanza, Tagdo Mambajao Camiguin. It is a natural hot spring heated by Mt Hibok Hibok, an active volcano here in Camiguin. It has six natural pools with different water temperature up to 40 degrees celsius. You can choose which pool that suits your standards. I tried the warmest pool, it gives soothing and calming effect on me as it relieves my body pains especially back pain, but I didn't stay long in it as it feels really warm. If you wish to stay overnight there are lots of rooms to choose from. There are also picnic huts and tables and family huts for day trip
After three days of stay in this wonderful island, we packed up and bade goodbye to the owner of the resort who had been very accomodating to us.We went to Mambajao market and bought some dried fish and squid and travel back to my hometown (Butuan City). We had a great time here. I cherished every hours and days that we spent in this beautiful island of Camiguin.
