🎧. I purchased Octatrack a few months ago after talking several times with people I admire like @pinyonpine_ and confirming what everyone was saying. The learning curve is hard, but it is a piece of equipment that if you invest in it.... it will pay you back. So this summer I set out to give it “more love”, but to be able to have more freedom to sit with it wherever I wanted, I acquired the USB to 12V adapter from @myvolts to use with a powerbank I have ... And the truth is that I think I start to understand “something” about how OT works , how to use it for ambient and I start to hear very interesting things coming out of it that I didn’t expect. To do my “exercises and understanding” I loaded in its memory some piano sounds I had from the always inspiring @blankfor.ms libraries and from there I tried to repeat the steps to make “intuitive” what seems ZERO intuitive... after an hour and a bit of playing with the buttons (always pleasant Electron buttons), .. I started to hear something different and inspiring. Over that I created three more layers between a couple of resampling of the master and another capture from #op1field... and finally TX-6 making a euclidean rhythm inside of it that triggered a tone (this last one is already amazing that you can create it in TX6 itself). I went running to get the camera, I hit record on TX6’s USB and this is the result. P.S. I’m sorry for the uncontrolled movements. Today it’s just an unboxing… a tiny bit full of enjoy unboxing. Yes… Teenage Engineering TX-6 is finally it’s here… And something similar happened to me than when I tried OP-1 field... I liked it much more than I expected. I can tell you 2 things. Once you have it in your hand (at least this unit, which comes after over a year of production), you clearly notice the premium finish in your hand. All its components feel very solid. It is very small... VERY VERY small. From the videos and photos, you know it is, but when you have it, you are amazed at how small it is. However, I have no problem handling it despite its size. I don’t have small hands, but they aren’t giant either, and I don’t really have any issues there. As for the sound? I tested it with the DAW as an audio interface with no issues at all in any of the usb modes. it really sounds very good. But when it comes to workflow… is where I find what I was looking for. Be free to record or play anywhere and anytime. Being able to patch OP-1, Field, Cocoquantus, Plumbutter, Norns, and manage EQ, compression, or FX sends per channel from one device to the drum machine is incredible and really breaks the barrier of formally setting up in the studio to record. I have noticed that it particularly suits PB and Coco when applying that EQ and compression... I can finally send signal in parallel from them to TX-6 and make cross-audio modulation at the same time ... or use Norns also in parallel or used as a FX processor controlling the amount I send per channel. I can even connect it to a laptop and make the session hybrid without many cables, for example (I’ve already done it), using Sonic Beds vol.1 and sending part of that signal to Cocoquantus in parallel... and capturing the whole mix, including the additional FX it has (which for me don’t sound bad), into the DAW. _________ #teenageengineering #TX6 #mixer #synth #dawless #monomenorns

Honestly, and after almost two years saying and repeating to myself that I didn’t need an @expertsleepers ES-9 , @elin.piel and @jurejerebic ended up changing my way of seeing it and right now I don’t understand how it took me so long to have one. For someone like me who loves to interact between all systems and build layers of different instruments and textures without giving up any part, it really surprised me. If I want to be standalone, I get it with analog connectivity to a portable recorder or usb to iOS. If I want to integrate it into the daw I can do it direct or combo mode. For me, it’s a reminder that what matters is not what you have or buy, but what you are capable of doing with what you already have. In this second part the textures evolve towards the tension coming out of the drones and the accumulation of layers with different timbres over harmonic structures. The initial melancholy is extended towards a greater textural tension and depth ... we move from a simple dialogue to the complexity of the spectrum of noise, pulses and transmission in today’s predominant hypercommunication that at times feels as empty as the desert. I like randomness more and more as a source of inspiration and generation of new ideas.
