Catch Up Fridays Continue Amidst Academic Break

The implementation of Catch-Up Fridays continued even during the students’ academic break this January 26, 2024, as learners completed various reading activities.

Students from Junior High School up to Senior High School levels carried out different tasks that would enable them to enhance and improve their reading skills such as the accomplishment of the printed reading materials, utilization of the interactive slide decks for those with laptops and computers at home, and book reviews.

To ensure the smooth conduct of these activities, English teachers monitored the abovementioned activities through various modes of communication.

This demonstrated the determination of THS learners in their desire and dedication to improve and enhance their literacy skills.

THS commences INSET 2024 with Differentiated Learning and Catch-Up Fridays Orientation

They say that “learning never stops”, so while students began their much-anticipated academic break, the administration and teaching staff of Tibag High School embarked on their Learning Action Cell and IPCRF Mid-year Assessment on January 24, 2024.
Today’s session focused on the Improvement of the teaching and learning process through differentiated learning strategies in teaching and Learning Recovery through the implementation of Catch-Up Fridays per department.
The first half of the day was dedicated to teachers’ LAC sessions where the Master Teachers from each department were able to expand teachers’ perspective on how they could address the learners’ diversities through their utilization of the differentiated instruction strategies in their teaching.
Soon after, Head Teachers broaden teachers’ understanding on the implementation of Catch-Up Fridays in line with the TCSD’s Project RESCUE; furthermore, they also introduced the Client Satisfaction Measurement, a new approach on how stakeholders could provide their inputs and feedback for the improvement of the school’s delivery of services.
Meanwhile, the afternoon session was dedicated to the conduct of the IPCRF Mid-year Assessment in which the school head and the head teachers provided technical assistance and mentoring in the accomplishment of the teachers’ IPCRF for the current school year.
These activities once again prove that a day is never wasted at THS, since a busy day is always a blessed day, especially for educators; as students rest for a week, their teachers will continue to better themselves to ensure quality education.

THS Gender and Development (𝐆𝐀𝐃) coordinators, Sir Roberto Y. Suagart Jr. and Ma’am Marianne Wage conducted several activities relevant to the 18-day Campaign period from November 25 – December 12 of every year to spread awareness and continuously eliminate violence against women (𝐕𝐀𝐖) bearing the theme “𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐕𝐀𝐖-𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬.”

To show support, faculty, staff, and selected students were encouraged to wear orange as this represents hope and freedom from violence.
The goal of VAW-C is to revisit the amendments and provide the public with updated information on laws protecting women and to gather public support for the advocacy.

To conclude the program, coordinators held a symposium at THS covered area that talks about women’s rights as stipulated in the 1987 Philippine constitution. In addition, certificates were conferred to students who expressed advocacy through different campaign activities. Winners of the video advocacy campaign contest are Grade 12-Drucker (ABM) and Grade 12- Neumann (ICT).

Division Execs greenlight SPJ implementation in THS

June 30, 2023, Friday – Division Validators congratulates Tibag High School under the supervision of Dr. Juvelyn L. Esteban for passing the Division Inspection on Special Program in Journalism.

With the help of THS SPJ Coordinators: Sir Benjamin S. Gaspar HT-I and Sir Edsel L. Natividad MT-I, all language teachers both in the English and Filipino department worked hand-in-hand in preparing pertinent requirements and classrooms for Print Media, Radio Broadcasting, and TV Production.

“We readied the facilities, equipment, instructional materials, and the documents needed the best way we can to get the approval of the evaluation team.” Sir Natividad shared.

Application requirements were thoroughly checked by the Division evaluators spearheaded by TCSD SGOD Chief, Dr. Ruth Jimenez, English EPSVr, Dr. Reymar Paguio, Filipino EPSvr, Ma’am Rowena D. Tiamzon and EPS II SMME, Ma’am Edna P. Domingo. Technical Assistance were communicated to improve its implementation.

Dr. Paguio underscored the importance of conducting Special Programs which are fundamental in enhancing creative and critical thinking of our learners.

“Amidst our efforts to recover learning losses and bridge learning gaps, we shall not also forget learners who are at par with the standards… to avoid stagnancy of learning, worse, faltering.”

Meanwhile, the group will continue its preparation for the upcoming regional validation. Interested incoming Grade 7 students may look forward to enroll in THS Special Program in Journalism.
