Photo opportunity taken as I walked back to the truck, cold, wet, and shivering for the last time this 2024 season. Had one of those reminiscing hike outs thinking, I may have not filled a tag this season, but the amount of knowledge I learned this year just makes that anticipation for next season even stronger. Hunted more public, found/hunted more sign than I ever have previous years, bumped more deer than ever 😂, missed a shot on a doe due to a branch, but also saw more deer in the woods than ever. Hunting season never stops.

Final modifications to my Seeker platform, camouflaged paint, paracord wrapped edges, large gear tie to hang off the linesman rope, and a furniture pad to dampen the adjustable bolt. Saddle has an S-Biner to hang the platform off while climbing and smaller gear ties to hang climbing sticks while I climb.

Almost exactly an hour apart. and I started clearing brush out for a walk in path for this upcoming season. Hung the trail cam, made a mock scrape and a tree rub. One hour later after getting destroyed by horse flies and skeeters a doe comes in and checked out the scrape. Getting closer to go time!

This season is all about cutting down gear weight, cut down my original 3-step lone wolf climbing sticks to minis, adding amsteel aiders and ditching the cam buckles for daisy chains. Also will be trying saddle hunting this year as a another tool in the arsenal!

Finally got a chance to practice out of my @cruzrsaddles setup today, unfortunately due to recovering from a work knee injury I wasn’t able to practice enough to be comfortable to hunt this season out a saddle. Shooting from a saddle is a whole new ball game so Ground and pound blind game this season it is.
